Misun returned later than she had expected, a bit mentally drained, but no matter how exhausted she was, the black haired couldn't get herself to fall asleep. She kept tousling in bed, trying to get her thoughts away from the multiple conversations she had with Hyunjin. She didn't want to think about that and decided to spend her time binge watching all the matches she had missed.
“We saw you getting into Hyunjin's car,” Dahee popped out of nowhere, clutching the girl's arm.
“Are you two dating?” Haerin appeared next, a grin as equally as wide on her face. “Although I was shipping you with Seungmin, but Mijin is still cute.”
“Mijin? I thought we were going with Hyunsun?”
Misun yawned tiredly, her hand barely holding onto the watering can. The girls were using their free period to cater for the school's garden, a task that members of the clubs were given a specific day to do. “We're not dating,” another yawn. “Hyunjin invited me over.”
“Hmm,” Haerin leaned off, tapping her cheek. “Do you think he did that because he likes you?”
“He does not,” Misun shut down the idea.
Both Dahee and Haerin protested on that, giving typical teenage signs why and how the brown haired have feelings for her, all which Misun didn't believe. She'd know for sure if he did, Misun could easily read peoples' minds like a book, even though their actions were misleading, under close observation, the original intention will be revealed to her.
Her friends didn't cut their losses, leaving the argument for another day. They were now done with gardening, the school day meeting its temporary end. Misun waved them goodbye, picking up her bag when the voice echoed in her head again.
'I waited for you.'
She groaned exasperatedly, dealing with another mind whisper wasn't what she had prepared for. This one didn't pass a command, it was trying to hold a conversation with her– demanding it even.
She swung her bag over her back, stepping out of the empty classroom, when she felt a quick jerk, pulling her into the next class. Out of reflex, she punched her attacker right in the stomach, a breathy cry escaping him.
“Dammit Misun!” Seungmin clutched his lower torso, his face contorting in pain, dusting pink.
“Seungmin? Why the fuck would you do that?” Misun bit her lip, lifting the older up. “Dammit, you made me cuss at school!”
“Were you trying to kill me?” The raven haired winced, grabbing her hands to inspect if she really used those to hit him. “Are your hands rocks?”
Misun froze, heat rushing to her face, her cheeks flushed. Her neighbour's hands were very soft, a bit cold and definitely bigger than hers. He had a slight cut right below the silver ring he had on. “Please, stop touching me,” She managed to say, backing away from him. “What do you want? And how did you cut yourself?”
“I wasn't being careful enough,” Seungmin gave a simple retort, looking at the crimson spot on his finger. “And I wanted to know what you have going on with Hyunjin.”
“What is it to you?” She crossed her arms.
“Believe it or not I'm just looking out for you.”
Misun cocked a brow, displeased with his words. “Hyunjin isn't dangerous.”
“He isn't, but he's been quite nosy lately, you don't want a phantom sipping into your body, do you?” Seungmin paused. “Although for some reason they aren't really interested in procuring your body, are you one of them?”
Misun wanted to smack that grin off his face. He was only spurting nonsense, if she were somehow, miraculously one of them, that huge crab wouldn't have attacked her right? Or the guy at the alley, and several other incidents. Maybe she was just an unsuitable host. “You look so dumb right now.”
“What happened between you and Hyunjin?”
“He just told me a few things, he knows more than you and I'm glad I went over to his place.”
Seungmin shrugged, his brows twitching. “Hyunjin is a curious person, while I prefer to just let things happen,” He glared at her. “And what else?”
“I gave him a chaste kiss.”
“Hmm,” The black haired bit his inner cheek, his stare sharp. “Why?”
“Hyunjin has a complicated mind, if I hadn't done that, he would've crumbled mentally, overthinking if I hated him.”
“Well good for you and him, I'm going home.”
