[ Third Person Pov ]

Everything was in flames, carefree fire dancing on every surface, making the air unbearably hot, stuffy and smelled like bonfire. It was only a simple fire, nothing more than a few centimeters, but it felt like a forest fire to Misun and she was trapped in it, without a chance of getting out. The little heat made her skin burn terribly, reminding her of an all too familiar situation, one which she tried to refrain from. Just thinking about it made another creak on her glass, the sound jolting Misun away from her thoughts.

"Misun won't report me, she's really nice," Hyunjin's voice was the first she heard, followed by Seungmin's scoff. "Right Sunnie?"

She tore her gaze away from the ashes, staring at both of their expecting faces, her eyes wide with fear. A dull silence prevailed, her vision bleared, flickering. "Misun, are you okay?" Seungmin noticed how she struggled to keep her eyes open, and the iron grip she had on the desk.

"Yeah," The black haired nodded, feigning a smile. "I'm fine, just taking stuff in."

"See? You scared her with your fire."

"I'm sorry Misun, I didn't mean to."

Misun swiftly dodged when Hyunjin attempted to place his hand on her shoulder. She grabbed his hand, slamming it hard against the flat surface. "Don't touch me..." the noirette blurted, pressing his hand down. She looked up at their faces which were both perplexed, yet surprised. "...please. I'm sorry, I'm just. . ." she quivered, letting go of Hyunjin. "I'm just a bit startled, sorry."

"It's no problem, I'd be startled too," Hyunjin winced, rubbing his twinged wrist, which hurt like hell. "That was totally my fault," Misun didn't seem to relax and that made him sigh. "Are you scared of me now? Don't worry, I won't ever harm you."

"She's not scared of you," Seungmin's back stung bitterly, reminding him about the little phantom accident he had when he was out, hunting down phantoms for their experiment. Hyunjin didn't give him enough time before exposing that he wasn't what they refer to as normal, totally diverting his mind from the pain. "She's scared of what you can do. Misun, are you terrified of fire?"

Misun glared at him. "I'm not, why would you say that?" She heaved out a sigh, her body finally relaxing. "I'm sorry if my reaction made you feel bad, Jinnie," the black haired initiated a hug, growing more anxious when Hyunjin returned it, those same hands which created fire a few moments ago now wrapped around her. Misun had to shut her eyes tight, reminding herself that he wouldn't hurt her, at least not now. But all those thoughts were futile, useless antics that failed to make her relaxed.

From the distance he stood, Seungmin could still clearly see the fright that smeared on every contour of her face. "Great, now can we focus on these?" the raven haired bit his inner cheek, averting his attention to the box. "We can't just leave these things unattended."

"Right," Misun used that as an excuse to break away from Hyunjin quickly, exhaling a sharp breath. "It's very dangerous to leave them like this, they could escape."

"Mhm," Hyunjin nodded, carefully shutting the two new phantoms in a jar. They could slip through everything, except a glass, especially if left unprovoked. "Now we know they're scared of light because it can be converted to heat energy and water cools down their effects."

"And fire destroys them," Misun nodded.

"I think we should call it a day," Seungmin pushed himself away from the desk, pulling the ravenette along with him. "Misun doesn't look too good."

"What? I said I'm fine," her protests were ignored by Seungmin, who picked up their bags, waving goodbye to the bemused Hyunjin. "Why won't you listen to me?" all her tugs were of no avail, and it was the same for Hyunjin. It didn't go unnoticed by Misun, she simply stopped fuzzing, letting him lead her out.

And for the eternity of the ride back home, none of them exchanged a word, neglecting the other's presence. Even when they made it into their neighbourhood and Seungmin finally decided to let go of her hand, she still remained quiet, silently observing the strange light engulfing him. Hyunjin had the same, and several other people she had encountered. Misun didn't read too much into the difference and would shrug it off as auras, but was it really?

"You look like you're about to pass out," Seungmin spoke. "Make sure you get some sleep or whatever."

"Can you also create fire..." Misun took a step back, her gaze on the taller. "...with your hands?"

Seungmin took up his hand, observing it with a slight smirk. "No, but I wish I could," he averted his gaze back to her. "So you'd be scared of me too."

"It's not funny," Misun huffed, running to her front door.
