[ Third Person Pov ]
Hyunjin and Seungmin huddled beside each other, watching the once hyper phantom lose its energy as it's swooned and canoodled the glass shield used to keep him in place. While the brunet was ecstatic and dazzled with the new characteristics they had just discovered- the calming effects of orange blossoms works tenfold on phantoms and totally cancel their aggressive nature, Seungmin was more on the addled side, perplexed about the great comparison between Misun and these creatures.
"Hey, what are you guys doing?" Misun pushed the door open, a calm and sleepy Kkami tucked with care between her arms. "It's taking too long."
"It's nothing," Her neighbour was the first to speak up, shutting the door- an action that startled the noirette. "Just stay out, we'll let you know when we're done."
Misun scoffed, vexed by the way they were both shutting her out. She thought they were all in this together; in alliance as they tried figuring out whatever these things were, their strengths and weaknesses, encase the phantoms go rogue, they would have an expedient to protect themselves.
With another annoyed sigh, Misun passed the dog into her other arm, knocking the door with her left hand. "What are you doing that I shouldn't know about?"
Normally she wouldn't mind staying out, the black haired had been avoiding her neighbour all week; deducing that the new voice in her head had something to do with him- he was the only person close to her in the library when she was flustered and was the only one probing her when she first approached Hyunjin.
It was her chance to finally get him off her mind, but Misun still found herself intrigued by his uncanny demeanor, a strange pull that keeps wanting more.
"Stuff," Hyunjin replied, although he was also confused why Seungmin didn't want her in, unbeknownst that the black haired didn't want her to notice that he was trying to figure out what she was.
She wasn't a host, at least not from how placid and equanimous she behaved. Granted, when she wasn't around him.
The brunet turned to Seungmin, prodding. "Should I let her in now?"
"Yeah, whatever," Seungmin shrugged, watching the phantom that was now at rest, the very same reaction she had that night.
Agitated, Misun walked into the room. Being around him was always so spleen-inducing, she hated him, but strangely, a little part of her would flutter whenever she was around him, or whenever he did anything trivial. Misun couldn't help but ponder what was wrong with her.
"Misun, come here," Hyunjin beckoned for her, his voice stern- and upon the younger's hesitation, the brunet sighed, an eye roll followed suit. "I won't hurt you, Misun, no one here would. . ."
"I might. . ." Seungmin pointed out.
"You're a certified jerk, Seungmin, no one is surprised."
Hyunjin huffed, unable to deal with their corybantic relationship. Misun was nice to everyone except Seungmin, and he knew exactly why, the black haired was teasing her on purpose, that much was clear. He wasn't oblivious to the glee Seungmin felt whenever she would react to his hoaxes.
Misun rolled her eyes, placing the now sleeping puppy on the ottoman, reluctantly going over to the taller. "So, what is it?" she broke into a weak smile.
A smile which Hyunjin returned. "I wanna show you something I've been working on."
"Hey," Seungmin protested from behind. "You never show me anything new."
"That's cause you're not Misun," A weak flame ignited above the brunet's hand, and with just a flick of his wrist, the little ball of fire turned into a blaze- a wild fire taking the form of a bow and arrow.
Misun stood petrified when he pointed it at her, and even though the taller could control the temperature- reduced to the lowest that it was just a dancing flame of neon orange and red stripes, the ravenette was still a hyperventilating mess. "Hyunjin stop," she mumbled, her voice weak and barely audible to both boys. "Please."
Hyunjin pulled the flamy string and fletching, his right eye closed for a better aim, all his concentration focused on his trick, disdaining how frightened Misun was.
Seeing her all frozen made Seungmin's brows crease, she had the same expression as when he first revealed his power. "Hyunjin, cut it out."
The sudden clamour ruffled Hyunjin's serenity, the jolt prompting the brown haired to let go, and in one swift movement, the flamy arrow launch towards Misun, and just like he had done when she was being attacked by a phantom crab, Seungmin briskly took her away from the mini colourful firework display that erupted when the arrow flared-up, using himself to shield her away from the flying sparks.
