Tilly's P.O.V.

We get into school just before the bell and head straight to our first class.

Luke wonders off to some other people standing at the other end of the corridor and Calum, Michael, Grace, Rosie and me are standing next the door.

Michael is the first to speak. "What's up with Luke recently?"

"I don't know." Rosie and Grace both say while me and Calum stay quiet.

"Do you think we should talk to him about it?" Michael asks.

"I don't know, he barely tells us anything anyway." Grace says.

"What? Aren't you guys so close though?" I ask as my mother's inquisitiveness shows through me.

"We don't know we think he tells Ashton a lot of things. Maybe even his brothers." Rosie says.

"Oh, okay." I reply not knowing why he wouldn't tell his friends anything. I didn't understand why he was so quiet or maybe even secretive. Was he hiding something from his friends? I would have thought that they knew everything about each other, I mean it seems like Rosie and Grace know everything about the other one. I don't know what was bothering me so much? He acts like like this whenever I'm around. It's like it's my fault. Does he not like me or want me to hang around with these new friends of mine. Maybe I've interfered with a really strong friendship group?

Overthinking Tilly. You're overthinking.

I decided to try and forget about it for now and so I made my way into my English class and sit in my seat next to Grace.

Time went fast and we had discussed a whole chapter of Pride and Prejudice and it was soon time to head off to period 2.

I had a new class today, art, and so I decided to go in early and explain to my teacher Mrs Mason about the fact that I was new and where I could possibly sit.

The bell rang and a flood of other students came in. I waited for them to all sit down so I could find my seat which ended up being next to a guy with darkish green eyes and dark brown curly hair. I took out the only art supplies in my bag; two paintbrushes and a pencil before realising I didn't even have a sketchbook.

"So class today we are moving onto The City Life where we will look at the buildings in cities, the people, the work, the different places etc. For this project you will be paired with the person sitting next to you. Off you go." Mrs Mason explains.

"Hello." the guy sitting next to me speaks.

"Hi." I reply.

"I've never seen you before, are you new?" he asks.

"Yes I am, I moved here about a week ago."

"Well welcome to The University of California umm..." he stumbles over the fact I did not introduce my name to him.

"Tilly."

"It's very nice to meet you and to be your partner." he very kindly says.

"Thank you. It's nice to be your partner too... uh"

"Alex." he informs me. "Let's get to work then. Do you have any ideas for starting points?" He smiles.

"Tilly, can I have a quick word." My teacher said from the other side of the classroom interrupting poor Alex. She was a small lady who had light brown hair and you could tell she loved what she taught by the burning passion that shone through her blue eyes and of course the hundreds of paintings, drawings etc that lined the walls of her classroom.
