Chapter 26 • "Out of all the people."

Grace's POV

"What? Who was it?" Rosie questions.

"Out of all the people. Luke and Tilly."

"What about them."

"They literally just kissed before they separated." I say shocked.

"What? No! Are you serious!?"

"Yes I'm serious. They must be dating."

"Luke and Tilly, dating? They barely even talk."

"Maybe that was all a cover up." I suggest.

"Maybe." Rosie agrees.

After an hour of Miss I don't even know her name it was time for English and also time to question Tilly. We make our way downstairs and over to English. I can see Tilly standing with Calum and Luke near the classroom door but I decide to not say anything until we are inside.

"Hey Tilly." I say trying not to sound suspicious.

"Heyy." She replies.

"How are you?" I ask.

"Good thanks you?"

"I'm good. Anything new with you?"

"No. Still the same old me." She says. She's not making this easy for me.

"Good. So how was your weekend. I hear Luke asked you out?" I couldn't contain myself.

Tilly's POV

"What? Who did you hear that from." I reply to the statement that just escaped Grace's mouth.

"Well I didn't exactly hear it but I saw it with my own eyes." She says and I I've her a puzzled look and so she continues. "While I was in history early and waiting for the teacher I was gazing out of the window when I saw you and Luke kiss and considering you hardly ever talk or at least in front of everyone you've got to be more than friends. It's surprising but super cute."

Honestly I don't know where to start or what to say.

"Thank you I guess." I laugh slightly and open my book writing the title on a blank page.

"Class." My teacher starts. "I would like you to get into partners." A groan is made by almost everyone in the room. Everyone stands up from there seat in order to find a partner but mine walks straight towards me as if a natural instinct.

"I hope you don't mind us being partners." Luke smiles.

"Of course I don't." I smile back.

Another 5 minutes and we are all sorted into pairs and seated at a table. Grace went with Calum and Rosie and Michael each found one of their friends from another class.

"Your task as partners is to firstly collect 20 quotes putting them into a book and annotating them like this." She says displaying a book that has the quote printed and stuck in on one side and the annotations on the other. "You will then plan your own version of how you think this book should have gone however the story line does have to be similar and Mr Darcy can not all the sudden be in a band or something. Professions and statuses have to stay the same. Lastly you will write a chapter from your own story line and that has to be approximately 2000 words. Is that clear? I'm giving you a week to do this and I expect to see it all finished. You can start on it now and we will be working on it in the next few lessons as well as it being your homework to produce the essay part."
