Tony Stark was Peter's mentor. They were fighting against Steve and Bucky in Civil War.

This variant of Peter was introduced in Civil War.

Tony and Peter are both orphans. They have a lot of other stuff in common but this is a big one.

When (MCU) Peter meets Norman Osborne he said "sometimes I'm not myself, I'm... someone else!" he says "every time he's in control I can't remember and now I'm here"

he said "I don't know this place, this city. I don't know what's going on!" he's clearly distressed and knows something's wrong but doesn't know what.

He removed the mask, destroyed it, but his mind is still affected. So he seeks help.

Norman Osborne ended up being possessed, and killed Aunt May (green goblin did).

Tony Stark had decided not to sell bombs anymore because bad people could get their hands on them easily.

His first suit was built from scratch, so he didn't put super high tech weapons in it.

The suits he had after this, however, had better and more precise weapons, to kill the bad people, but to minimise innocent casualties.

Similarly, Peter Parker never became a superhero for fame or fighting, he became a hero to save lives and because he felt it was his responsibility to protect people.

It's well established that no matter what franchise and in nearly every fanfic:

-Spider-Man tries not to hurt people unless he has no choice

-Spider-Man never kills.

Not even just humans, he doesn't kill humanoids either, but he doesn't even harm other aliens or animals unless he has no other option. He didn't activate "instant kill" until infinity war, when he has to face off against dozens of evil alien-monster things.

In Civil War, when Tony finds out that Bucky killed his parents, he sought vengeance (hehe puns) and immediately tried to kill Bucky, despite knowing that it wasn't his fault.

He said "I don't care, he killed my mom."

When Peter saw the Goblin after he'd killed May, Peter didn't care about his most important rule, he simply wanted revenge.

After the Goblin said "Poor Peter, too weak to send me home to die." Peter even said to him "No. I just wanna kill you myself"

It's a strange parallel that both Peter and Tony had their mother figure murdered by someone who wasn't in control of their own mind, then -despite knowing this- choosing to kill them to avenge their loved one, when they wouldn't ordinarily kill someone.

The weirdest part though, is that it's not just them:

-T'Challa also tried to kill Bucky after he'd killed his father (It wasn't actually Bucky, but T'Challa didn't know that at the time).

-Even Shuri -though not directly- shows the same sort of thoughts and actions. Killmonger asks her "are you gonna be noble like your brother, or take care of business like me?" Shuri clearly wants to be nothing like him, so by not answering she tells us that she believes he's right (just would never admit it).

-Steve Rogers immediately went after the Hydra agent after he killed Dr Abraham Erskine, then did the same when he found out the 107th infantry (including Bucky) had gotten captured.

-Loki felt responsible for his mother's death but above that he wanted revenge, which is really not surprising given the character (I love Loki but I'm not going to lie and say he wouldn't take revenge, given the chance).

-When Loki died, Thor said to Thanos "you'll die for that", later he does almost kill him and says "I told you you'd die for that" sadly he did not indeed die for that (yet) but, of course, Thor takes his advice and does eventually kill him, with a merciless expression.

-Wanda (she has a few examples) in AOU, after her brother died, completely blamed Ultron. He said "you'll die" and she replied with "I just did. You know how that felt?" then rips his 'heart' out and says "it felt like that." She got superpowers to kill Tony Stark because she believed he killed her parents. She almost killed Thanos because he killed Vision. She also was willing to kill Dr Strange and sacrifice a kid and an alternate version of herself in order to have children that weren't actually hers.

-Clint went on a murder spree because after losing his kids and wife he thought that the surviving half didn't deserve to live.

Loved one dies, passive person becomes killer.

It makes sense but Spider-Man is a kid, and a very pure, sweet and innocent person. I think he learned this behaviour from Tony Stark, his idol and hero, who did something similar the first time they met (not including the scene in Ironman 2).
