They don't know when it happened. Just that after months of their experiments Y/N seemed to stop reacting. She hadn't asked for anything. No, food, water, help, or even her mom.

They had done it.

They made the perfect soldier. She did what she was told without questioning authority.

She would take down Right Arm. Seeing as life supposedly meant nothing she was almost unstoppable.

They just had to test it one more time. After letting her heal from her wounds she looked normal. The other kids wouldn't suspect a thing unless she talked or they looked close enough. Even then, they wouldn't know the truth. This was the perfect time.

“Experiment 101,”a guard called, not looking in her eyes. Y/N was used to this now, and while she found it ironic that he seemed so afraid when his face had one haunted her nightmares, she never mentioned it. What good would that do?

“Yes?”She asked.

“You're coming with me to the meal room. You'll get your bag,”He explained. She didn't ask why as she stood alongside him. He stared straight ahead as he tried to subtly get this over with as quickly as possible. “And don't tell the other kids what's different about you. Act like them,”He recited, turning another corner. While she didn't know what other kids are like since she doesn't have memories of them, she was sure that if she observed them she could blend in. “And, uh, try not to scare anyone,”He added, standing in front of the door. Scanning his key to it, the second it was open he shoved the brown bag in her hands before leaving.

Walking into the room, she was met with eyes and a few curious whispers about the “new” kid. While she noticed, she ignored them as she looked for a quiet place to sit.

Sitting with Sonya, Harriet, and Rachel, Aris didn't notice anything until he heard Maverick make a comment about some weird new girl. Turning his attention to the front, he saw Y/N walking towards an empty table at the end.

“That's her. That's the girl I've been telling you about. That's Y/N,”Aris exclaimed, smiling ear to ear.

“It looks like she didn't see you,”Sonya pointed out.

“I'm gonna go to her then. I'll be right back,”He shrugged, doing so. The three girls looked at him, then Y/N, before going back to their conversation. Knowing him and the way she had accidentally become a topic, she'd probably be eating with them today. They'd get to meet the girl Aris defended from people who didn't even know her.

At least, that's what would make sense.

“Y/N, Y/N, hey,”Aris greeted, moving across from her. Still beaming, he took in the little things about her. Like how her sunburn had cleared up, her hair was still in a nice, neat ponytail, and best of all she still had that faint lavender smell.

“Hello?”She asked, though he couldn't tell because of her deadpan tone and expression. By now that was just natural to her.

“You remember me, right? The boy from the train?”He asked.

“No,”She answered.

“What? Of course you do. We sat next to each other. We talked about wanting and not wanting to believe in things. Just about who we are and whatever we were feeling. You didn't want my name though, because you were afraid I was going to leave,”He tried to remind her.

“That doesn't make sense. Names are how we call people. After all, if you hadn't said mine I may have assumed you had me mistaken, though now I'm sure you do.”

“What? Y/N, come on. Listen. My name is Aris. Aris Jones, and you didn't know that but you knew me. You know me just as much as I know you,”He pleaded.
