Aris's P.O.V
As we made it to the mall something about it just felt off. Especially with the fact that there were so many dangerous things out here. So naturally when the group got here I gestured for them to keep quiet. I trusted Y/N's words. I had no reason not to.
"Fine, but I'm at least going to find a light,"Thomas mumbled.
"Did you hear what I just said? We can't give away any sign that we're here. Not all of us can exactly run if something happens,"I sighed, gesturing to Y/N who was still passed out and letting out little signs of pain.
"Holy klunk. What happened to her?"Minho asked.
"She got shot,"I mumbled, taking my water and pouring it over her skin. She let out this relieved sigh without even knowing it. At least, I really hope that's what it was.
"What's our next step? I mean we followed you out here. What's the plan?"Newt asked, putting his hands on his hips.
"Can someone tell me what is going on?"Teresa chipped in.
"It's WCKD. It was always WCKD,"Thomas vaguely explained.
"Everything in that place is to throw us off. From what Y/N told me most of us are immune to the Flare. I think that means they want our blood and to just study us,"I added.
"Most? Didn't that lady in the video say all of us were?"Frypan pointed out.
"Yeah, but WCKD isn't exactly known for honesty. She said we all have files, and she was pretty sure mine was marked immune. That would mean not everyone is."
"That's lovely. You think she can tell us who else is at risk?"Minho sighed.
"Can we make sure that she's okay first? Asking people questions like that after they've been shot probably wouldn't end well."
"Yeah. Make sense. Now what about a plan?"Newt repeated.
"Y/N said something about these safe people in the mountains. They're where we need to go. She knows everything,"I explained.
"So just blindly trust her?"
"She was the one who even suggested getting you guys out, and she did. I'd say there's a pretty good chance she wants to help us,"I explained, cleaning as much blood as I could from her. “Some of you need to look for supplies. Quietly,”I added, not turning to face them.
“What more do we need?”
“Food, water, clothes, weapons, anything. We don't know how long we’ll be out here.”
“I thought your precious Y/N knew?”
“Shut up, Maverick. Thomas, you coming with?”
“Will do, Minho.”
With most of the group leaving and a few staying behind to set up, I basically ignored everyone, carefully wrapping her stomach despite her unconscious protests.
“I know, I know. I just have to make sure it doesn't get worse,”I coaxed.
“Why ya’ actin’ like she can hear ya’?”
“Because I care about my friend.”
“She ain't seem to see ya’ like that all, does she?”
No but yes. More of she doesn't think I see her as my friend. It's complicated. She's complicated.
“Go look for supplies.”

By the time they got back with everything we could carry I had finished helping as best as I could. I kept my backpack on as I took a seat next to her.
"Is she okay?"Thomas asked.
"For someone who has a bullet in her she seems well enough. As long as we keep an eye on the bandages everything should be fine,"I nodded.
"That's good then. We don't want her to just die or anything."
"That would definitely suck,"I agreed before turning my full attention back to Y/N. Now it seemed like she was just asleep. As long as you ignore the red stain on her shirt.
I carefully lifted her head to put my bag under her. When she was resting again she looked a little bit more comfortable. Not by much, but she looked better.
"I think it's time to get some rest. We've got a big day tomorrow,"Newt pointed out.
"Yeah. Sounds good,"I lied. As they all bid they goodnight and found why they could to keep warm, I stayed in my spot, my eyes not leaving her. While realistically there wasn't much I could do if something went wrong, there's more time to do anything if I’m making sure she's alright. Just in case.
