CHAPTER 38- NATHAN

My heart burst with happiness and joy. I heard my daughter for the first time and what a beautiful sight it was, for her to trust Natalie and accept her as her mom, and Natalie beautifully embracing her. My heart was right in my throat as I held my family, my daughter and my wife. I looked over to moms who held baby Xavier and cried with a bright smile. I then looked over to Mason but instead of smiling, he stood tensed, when he caught my eyes he worded

Victoria

Right, she was here in my house! She wanted to meet with Natalie but to hell I was going to let her see my family, not after what all happened, especially last night. I pulled away and smiled at my daughter who didn't acknowledge me yet, but like Natalie said- baby steps.

I then looked at my wife, Natalie looked exhausted with the recent events that had happened. And right now she really needs some rest. Her hair was a mess and her eyes were red and puffy with all the crying. She needs proper rest and a huge spa day. I need to book one for her immediately.

" Why don't you freshen up and eat something Natalie? Mom will take care of the kids in the meanwhile" I suggested my wife and she nods, her concentration still on our daughter in her arms. I wanted time to freeze at now forever. I got up discreetly and came out of the room along with Mason, my mood dropping at once to whom we were about to meet.

I look at Mason," Where is she?" I ask him and he sighs,

" With dad in his study room. She just barged in and saw both the kids, Xavier was on the play carpet, playing with dad and Beatrice was eating her food. Dad handed Xavier like a candy to her" he growls as we walk to his study room.

" So.. you and Natalie are together now?" Mason asks out of blue and I frown

" What do you mean by that? We are married" I tell him but he shakes his head

" That's the fake marriage bro, and together as in did you guys finally confessed your feelings to each other and really finally together in real" he says and I nod smiling.

" Together, family. She is giving me and Beatrice a chance to be family. I am never going to take that woman for granted, ever! My wife and My daughter!" I say proudly and he pfts

" Guys would be jealous of you, you directly got a wife and a kid, good for you, don't mess it up. You gotta propose to her for real this time and you guys should get married you know, dress venue, wedding vows and all" he says and I take another mental note to buy a ring to propose her and marry her for real.

" Thanks for reminding me, my stupid brain would have never thought of it since we're already married" I tell him genuinely.

" Yeah, always here for you. I finally get to be the best man. Hey, just don't knock her up yet, you know with Beatrice and Xavier already here and you guys starting your life together. Give some time to yourselves" he says and I mumble him,

" So many advices to give to your older brother, sent me a document"

" I've been married over a decade.." he whispers with pain and I slap his shoulder," Mary will wake up. She will be fine you see, you too will have your family together!" I say to him, hoping and wishing for it with all my might and knock over dad's study room and enter. Dad sits there with grandma over a tea. My blood boils as i see her but take a deep breath, maintaining my composure.

" You wanted to talk?" I asked her directly. She scowls

" That is no way of talking to your grandma! I wish to talk to your wife, so get her here immediately!" she orders and I fold my arms over.

" You may not. If there's any such thing, you can tell me. We don't keep any secrets from each other "I tell her, my voice robotic, void of any emotions. Victoria's face muscles twitch, she didn't liked my tone on a bit and i felt proud of it.
