The same day

Kya sat cross-legged on her bed, scrolling aimlessly through her phone. Her mind was elsewhere, fixated on the argument she and Treavon had. The tension in the room was thick, and she could feel Treavon's presence behind her, pacing slowly.

She knew he was upset, but she couldn't bring herself to care. Not when she felt so betrayed.

Treavon, unable to bear the silence any longer, walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. The mattress dipped slightly under his weight, but Kya didn't acknowledge him.

She kept her eyes glued to her phone, though she wasn't really seeing anything. Her thoughts were too clouded with anger and hurt. How could Treavon side with Tabatha? she wondered. After everything that happened with Dayvon, how could he be okay with this?

The silence between them grew, neither knowing how to break it. This was their first real argument since they started dating. Kya felt her chest tighten as she replayed the events over and over in her head.

Tabatha had gone behind her back, betraying the trust she thought they had. And now, Treavon was trying to defend her? It didn't make sense.

Just as Treavon was about to speak, a loud knock echoed through the apartment. Both Kya and Treavon turned their heads toward the door, surprised. It was late, and they weren't expecting anyone. They exchanged a glance, confusion mirrored in each other's eyes, before Kya reluctantly slid off the bed, following Treavon as he headed to the door.

When they reached the front door, Treavon hesitated for a moment, his hand hovering over the lock. He glanced back at Kya, who stood a few steps behind him, her arms crossed tightly over her chest. With a deep breath, he undid the locks and pulled the door open.

Standing in the doorway was Tabatha, her eyes red and puffy as if she had been crying for hours. She looked at Treavon first, then shifted her gaze to Kya, who stood frozen in place, a mix of shock and anger flashing across her face.

Without saying a word, Treavon stepped aside, allowing Tabatha to enter. The tension in the room doubled as Kya's breath hitched. How could he just let her in like that? she thought.

"Get out!" Kya's voice was sharp, her body trembling with the force of her emotions. She couldn't believe Tabatha had the nerve to show up here, in her home, after what she had done.

Before Kya could say more, Treavon's voice cut through the air, harsh and frustrated. "Just let her talk first. Hear what she has to say, damn ! It's like you can never just hear someone out."

Kya's eyes snapped to Treavon, disbelief flooding her. "I should hear her out? You hate Dayvon more than I do, and you're just okay with her being with him?" Her voice rose with each word, the pain in her chest making it hard to breathe. She didn't want to hear anything, didn't want to give Tabatha the chance to explain.
