" ... King's Landing looked up to see eleven dragons circling the city, blocking out the sun until the sky was nothing but scales. Caraxes, Cannibal, Syrax, Seasmoke, Vermithor, Dreamfyre, Moondancer, Grey Ghost, Drago, Dracul, and Vermax screeched loud, and the small folk below screamed louder, believing the dragons had come to end them ... "

" ... The Red Keep fell to the Blacks with ease. The Gold Cloaks had always been loyal to Daemon Targaryen and had stepped aside to let the Black army inside the walls. There, they slaughtered every last opponent, tore down everything bearing King Aegon's sigil or colours, and rounded up everyone left to force them to bend the knee to the true Queen Rhaenyra ... "

" ... Heleana sobbed when she saw her mother in chains, dragged around as a hostage. The two women had once planned to flee the city together with Helean's daughter Jahaera, and now their home had fallen and they were under the control of the Blacks ... "

" ... Queen Rhaenyra sat the throne, her footprints leaving a trail of blood as she went. So much had already been spilled. Innocent blood, her own childrens's blood, all to put her on a throne made of swords ... "

Dragonstone had been nearly empty as the Targaryen family were forced to wait another day before departing for King's Landing. Daemon's raven had arrived early the next morning, barely after dawn and the Queen opened it in front of her family in the council room.

"It is time to go" she announced to the silent room.

She, Rhaellanne, Baelor, Lyanna, Baela, Jacaerys, Eleana, Vaelon, Addam, Hugh, and Ulf the White were all taking their dragons over to King's Landing today, to finally reclaim Rhaenyra's rightful throne.

Lord Corlys had sent his ships into Blackwater Bay, and those troops from Dragonstone's army, led by Ser Roderick and Bennard had disembarked and camped around the city walls last night. Daemon on Caraxes was also flying South, with their army of river men and Winter Wolves only a few days behind.

But Aemond and Vhagar had left the city already to go and join the Green army which was marching towards the Blacks, meaning that this was their best and maybe only chance to take the Iron Throne.

Inside the city, what was left of the Hightower family and small council were distraught. They had tried to leave the Red Keep, but even the people inside the city had turned on them after the blockade on King's Landing and it was no longer safe to be in the city without risk of death. Even their Gold Cloak's and Kingsguards were turning on them.

In the dead of night last night, Lord Larys Strong had done his best to protect the remainder of the Hightowers and had snuck a weakened Aegon out of the Red Keep, and with Alicent held prisoner by the Blacks, Heleana and Jahaera were now left alone and defenceless.

"Your Grace" came the voice of her guard Ser Thorne, and the Queen turned to him. His face was distressed, and she knew what was coming before he had said it. "The siege has begun. The Black army is inside the city"

❖❖❖

Daemon Targaryen, former commander of the City Watch, the Gold Cloaks. Everyone knew him and everyone feared him. The part that very few people had known though, was that even when he left King's Landing 17 years ago, he had always been their commander in their hearts.
