It was mid July, and it was finally time to decorate Ayumi's nursery in their new condo. It was sort of difficult at times when they really thought about it; especially knowing they'd be away from their family, and would be constantly alone in this new home.
Of course, their parents were just a few blocks away. But it was still weird, especially because they weren't even fully living there yet. Sure, they spent a few nights there, but that was only when they were so burnt out on all the painting they'd done.
The nursery was coming along beautifully, it was painted with a light lavender and one wall with some blue accents, they'd agreed to do a sort of galaxy theme to the room. Some stars were painted around their daughter's name that was written in a light yellow, and it wasn't even close to done. They knew they'd be going all out, and would splurge a bit on budget prices, but it was so worth it in the end.
"Okay, how in the fuck am I supposed to install this!?" Hitoshi yelled out, completely in distress as he tried to get the car seat installed into his car. The two agreed that Shinsous car would be the family car and Katsuki's would be for small outings or errands.
"I don't know! Did you even read the directions? I thought you said I'd have to do no work besides watch you suffer a bit." Complained the Omega as he had to insufferably watch his boyfriend struggle. "You could also, I don't know. Just wing it? Think about which way makes sense."
Hitoshi turned to look at the blonde blankly. "That's what I've been doing! And I can't just wing it.. I want our daughter to be as safe as possible." he explained with a small huff. He definitely felt defeated.
"Well, Mr. Smart guy, you're the one who wanted us to get the most expensive, most convenient one in the market. So, I'll say the faults on you for this one." He said with crossed arms resting over his bump, his brow cocked, watching the alpha struggle. "Let me at it... it's so simple."
Shinsou just rolled his eyes, there was no way the silly instructions would help him out that much, right? "Yeah, yeah. I bet you'll need my he-"
He was quickly cut off by Katsuki yelling out, "Done!" Well, that was annoying. Maybe instructions would be helpful in the future.
"Kaaat! Why do you always have to show me up like that.." He frowned, groaning slightly. Why was he cursed with such a beautiful and smart boyfriend who literally knew everything? "Okay, well now we really have to get you into bed. You are supposed to be staying off of your feet."
The Omega was quick to start pouting, he hated this whole new 'bed rest' idea. He was only 8 ½ months pregnant, so he didn't really get the whole idea of 'being off his feet.' He already had to do all the baby shopping online, so he didn't even get the glorious experience of seeing everything first hand and picking out what he liked in person. "But my legs work fine, can't you just let me sit in the nursery so I can watch you do everything?" He needed everything to be perfect. He wasn't taking any chances whatsoever, this was his first baby and he was willing to do anything to be counted as the best first time 'mom.'
The two still didn't know how to refer to Katsuki, parental role wise. It was definitely confusing between them, but Katsuki was truly open to anything. Whatever their daughter said, he would just accept.
"Baby, I know your legs work just fine, but your feet are swollen, and you need to give yourself some time to rest. But yes, I'll let you sit in the nursery and I'll even build the rocking chair today." Shinsou smiled brightly as he rubbed some soothing circles on the Omega's back as they walked inside.
The whole bedrest was difficult for them both because Katsuki always needed tending to it felt like, and so did the nursery. And it had to be as stunning as they'd imagined it. Hitoshi was able to do a lot that his Omega couldn't, and that made his alpha pride rise a lot, knowing he could be a big help in general. But they both needed one another just as much, they were an amazing team and figured out everything together.
