DEVANSH

A bullet zipped past my ear, its sharp whine echoing painfully in my head. I whirled around just in time to see it strike one of the guards directly between the eyes, his body collapsing lifelessly to the ground.

Mukul fired two more bullets, each striking the remaining guards with deadly precision. They crumpled to the ground, leaving me facing Mukul as he advanced menacingly.

Before I could react, he landed a brutal punch to my stomach, making me grunt in pain. "You fucking bastard," I muttered through gritted teeth.

Mukul aimed to strike again, but I managed to brace myself, catching his punch mid-air and pushing him backward. He staggered, eyes blazing with fury as he glared at me.

I holstered my gun, pulled out a cigarette, and lit it, leaning against my car as I took a drag.

Mukul, still seething, leaned against his car, lighting his own cigarette, his anger palpable as he paced back and forth.

The silence stretched between us until Mukul finally broke it, his voice thick with anger. "You knew my father's guards were tailing you. Even then, you risked your life coming here?"

I didn't answer. Mukul had summoned me, and from the moment I crossed the mansion gate, I was aware of Rishabh's men following me. But meeting Mukul was crucial, so I pressed on.

"I needed to talk to you," I said firmly, extinguishing my cigarette and climbing into the driver's seat. Mukul slid into the passenger seat, and I started the car.

After driving for a while, I spotted a club and made sure no one was following us. Once we were certain, we parked and headed into the VIP section. Mukul ordered a drink as I settled into my seat.

When his drink arrived and we were alone, I cut to the chase. "What did your father use to blackmail you?"

His eyes widened briefly in shock before he masked his surprise. He downed his drink in one gulp and slammed the glass on the table. "My mother."

The revelation hit me like a punch to the gut. I had always believed Mukul's mother had left due to his father's violence, and possibly died. I quickly regained my composure and asked, "But your mother—"

He interrupted, his voice choked with emotion. "She's alive. He showed me a video." I reached out to comfort him, placing a hand on his shoulder, but he shrugged it off with irritation. "I'm not Pari bhabhi. Keep your hands off me," he snapped, gulping another drink and sinking back into his seat.

"Fuck off," I muttered under my breath.

My thoughts turned to the information Ansh had unearthed, and a satisfied smile crossed my lips as I remembered how my little sister had unearthed secrets that had lain buried for 25 years.

"How did you find out everything?" Mukul asked, desperation lining his voice. "I couldn't tell you because Mr. Rishabh, that bastard Nirvana, threatened my mom's life. I thought it best to protect her first and then tell you everything," Mukul explained.

I took a deep breath, gathering myself to reveal what I had learned. "I've been unconscious in the hospital for the past three weeks. Ansh uncovered everything and informed me today."

Mukul's eyes widened. "Our princess?"

I nodded, and his face broke into a proud smile. I continued, "First, she recovered all the call recordings from Reshma's phone. Reshma had deleted them before she died, which were between Reshma and Veer Kashyap. Then, Ansh managed to obtain all the records of her calls with Veer Kashyap, who had ordered Reshma to harm me."
