PARINIDHI
"Dev, please, put me down," I implored, my voice carrying a hint of childish protest as he swept me out of the room.
Clutching his shoulders tightly for balance, I peered at him with curiosity. "Where are we going, Dev?" I murmured softly as we descended the staircase together.
"Dinner," he replied simply, his hand steadying me around the waist with a reassuring grip.
My eyes widened slightly in surprise. "But there are still staff downstairs," I whispered, a flicker of concern crossing my features.
I was only dressed in a loose sweatshirt, contrasting with Devansh's casual attire of sweatpants.
"They've all left, Pari," he assured me with calm certainty.
By the time we reached the living room, he had settled me into a chair at the dining table.
Quickly adjusting my sweatshirt to cover my thighs, I scanned the room to ensure our privacy.
Drawing a chair closer, Devansh seated himself beside me, his gaze gentle yet probing.
"What's on your mind?" he asked softly, brushing a stray lock of hair away from my face, his eyes warm with affection.
I averted my gaze slightly, feeling a blush creeping up my cheeks.
"You're blushing," he observed, a tender smile playing on his lips as he leaned in to press a gentle kiss against my cheek.
Meeting his eyes again, I saw a rare, genuine smile spreading across his face, illuminating his features with happiness.
Relief washed over me, knowing that his earlier mood had lifted. I had feared he would remain consumed by anger, but now I felt reassured that he was content.
Leaning closer, he pressed a soft kiss to my lips, whispering against them with sincerity, "You look absolutely enchanting when you blush. Knowing that I'm the reason behind it makes me feel like the luckiest man alive."
My smile widened at his words, marveling at this unexpected side of Devansh.
I couldn't help but wonder where he had learned such sweet talk, so different from his usual demeanor.
Leaning in, I pressed a kiss to his cheek. As I pulled back, I noticed with a mix of amusement and surprise that his ears were undeniably red.
I stifled a chuckle as Devansh turned his face away, clearly embarrassed.
Standing up from my chair, I moved to sit on his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck.
He immediately turned to face me, his hands securely gripping my waist. I playfully poked his cheek, "You are blushing."
"No, I'm not," he protested, his denial immediate.
"Yes, you are," I teased back, mimicking his earlier words. "You look absolutely enchanting when you blush. Knowing that I'm the reason behind it makes me feel like the luckiest woman alive."
His grip tightened around me, pulling me closer. My breath hitched at the sudden closeness. "You're teasing me, love," he said, his voice dropping to a husky whisper.
His lips brushed against my neck, sending a shiver down my spine. "When I start teasing your body with my tongue, don't stop me," he murmured, his tongue tracing a line up to my jaw, leaving a trail of wet kisses.
He kissed my earlobe before unexpectedly sliding his tongue into my ear, causing a rush of butterflies to erupt in my stomach.
I gasped, lightly pushing him back, my breath coming in quick, shallow bursts as I tried to calm my racing heart.
