Syrus nodded his head "Mhm! Xavier's father wrote to mine a little while back, it's odd how letters written can get to certain places faster than the humans who are traveling. So! Let's get you two inside, I bet you two are hungry and could use a good nights sleep." He said happily
Both of them nodded their heads and they followed the brunette male inside while they did Reina tugged on the side of Xavier's sleeve making him look down at her as Syrus was rambling on about things that they didn't care about. "Hm? What is it Reina?"
"It was a noble family that wished my death, someone knew that I had company leaving Kirka. We're going to need to be on our toes. I don't know if we can trust Syrus or his family." She spoke softly
He nodded his head. "Yeah...That's true. Keep your guard up Princess, who knows what'll happen."
"Hey Syrus?" Reina asked cutting the brunette male off
He looked behind him to her with a raised eyebrow "Yes Reina?"
"How have my parents been?"
"Oh! They've been swell! You'll actually be able to see them tonight! Father has invited them over for the night." Syrus said with a smile
Reina's purple eyes widened in shock "S-Seriously?! I...I will be seeing my family today?!" She asked happily
"Mhm, that you will. They will be esteemed guests at the house as will you and Xavier." Syrus said with a smile
Reina moved herself so she was next to the brunette male. "Syrus I have to ask, do you know if any of the other noble houses have tried to against the crown?"
"Yes actually! It was known two years ago that the house of Arista have been plotting to kill you and were the reason the bandits made their way into the palace all those years ago. The head of the house has already been taken care of. Why ask?" Syrus asked curiously
Reina took out of her dress pocket a parchment paper. "This is why."
Syrus read it before his eyebrows furrowed "Yeah this is the head of the Arista's handwriting alright. He never signs his documents. He was a shady bastard that's for sure."
"So who is the one who oversees that village now?"
"The eldest of the Arista family who was against the entire coo to begin with and the only blood of the Arista family-her name is Viven. People aren't all that keen on her being the head of the village but it's either they listen to her or she beheads them. She's done that to many already." Syrus said with a sigh
Reina's purple eyes widened "Holy crap that lady is savage."
"No kidding. She has a zero nonsense policy. She...She's rather scary to talk to." Syrus spoke weakly
Reina chuckled a bit amused "Let me guess you've seen this woman face to face haven't you?"
"I have...and I'm engaged to marry her in two months. Since I am the youngest of my brother and I-I have no choice in the matter."
Reina blinked her eyes a few times "Was it arranged?"
"No, she demanded to marry me from my father. My father agreed since he figured it'd be best to keep onto the good side of the head of the Arista family." Syrus said with a sigh shaking his head
"Oh wow, so you're basically screwed."
"Yeah...pretty much. Oh! Before we go to my home you should go to the guild hall to get your pay for all of the monsters and bandits you two have killed on your travels here."
Both of them nodded their heads and Syrus took them to the guild hall where they saw a bunch of males just drinking and laughing. They stopped seeing Syrus coming in with an unknown duo. Syrus went to the counter on the other side of the building as he smiled. "Afternoon Yuna, The Princess and Xavier are here now. Mind getting Guild Master Calvin for me please?"
The white haired female behind the counter nodded her head before she bowed her head and walked off silently. While she went to get the guild master Syrus looked behind him to Reina and Xavier. "Oh, I should let you know that Guild master Harvey past in the years since you two had last seen anyone from the guildhall. His son Calvin took over his position, Calvin was told about the two of you but don't know who you two are by face. So please let me do the talking before you two lose your shit alright?"
Reina and Xavier nodded their heads before they saw a red haired male with red eyes who looked rather unamused. "So these two are the two we've been waiting for all this time huh? They don't look all that powerful. Syrus are you sure that these two are them?"
"Very sure, I know my best friend anywhere." Syrus said as he placed a hand on Reina's shoulder He then looked at Reina "Show him your pendant."
She nodded her head and from between her breast around her neck she showed the emblem of her family crest which made the male step back a bit. "Only those of the royal family get those!"
"I told you Reina was the princess did I not?!" Syrus said with a huff "Did you seriously not believe me?!"
"I barely believe anything you say Syrus, but I see I need to take your words more serious from here on out. Princess...Xavier please come with me let's talk about what you two have done while you two have traveled from Kirka to Verra." Calvin said seriously with his arms crossed
