Reina shut her eyes as she took a deep breath "Prince Sylus...please let go of me." She spoke calmly before she opened her eyes and looked up into his blue eyes "If I was to do as you speak for me to do, you will not be able to contain what I hide, what I contain within myself. You do not have what it takes to understand and comprehend the life that I've had to live. I've seen enough to know what type of person you are."

He held onto her hand tighter lacing his hand with hers. "Like hell I'm letting you go princess, what about me makes you believe that you cannot trust me with what you hide within yourself?"

"Much about you does. Tell me what makes you have a certain box for women-and yes answer that question will help me gauge what to say to you in turn for your own question to me."

He let out a sigh as he averted his eyes for a moment, he then looked back at her. "I have courted two nobles from my own kingdom as well as even attempting to court one of your siblings, those who were from my own kingdom showed me that I cannot trust those who just look beautiful, that I must look for a woman with some type of intellect. While your sister Stella, she has made it rather clear that even with some intellect she does not do what she was on her own terms, she does so because your parents tell her to do so. You on the other hand you never grew up with your spoiled siblings, you have a sense of independence, you are rather smart even for a royal raised low class. I have allowed myself to get mixed up with you due to what I've seen and heard tonight."

Reina stared at him for a moment before she let out a sigh "May I inquire were the females older or younger than yourself?"

"Older, you are younger than me and are much smarter than them. Which speaks volumes...so what about me makes you not trust me?" He repeated

"I had not trusted you due to the lack of compassion you gave other women, but I see I didn't understand the situations completely, I can understand now why you have done what you have." She said in thought before she looked up at him once more. "I must ask...if I were to truly show my emotional side, would you truly care for what I show you?"

"Of course, I do not have a cold heart princess. I wouldn't brush you off and tell you to deal with it yourself." He said as he brushed his hand against the side of her face "I'm not the asswipe that chose to banish you from a village at the age of ten. You were a child and he did that shit, I'm not going to do that-fuck that."

Reina placed her hand softly over his that was on the side of her face, slowly her emotions showed as she held onto his hands tightly. "I've been so afraid and depressed for so long...and even now finding my family my siblings hate me. They talk bad about me without getting to know who I am." She said before she broke down crying

He went from holding onto her hand to wrapping both of his arms around her body pulling her into his chest as he placed a hand against the back of her head. "Your siblings have always been cold hearted Princess Reina. Tell me, how much did you have to do just to get to the middle sector in this kingdom? You had someone travel with you did you not?"

"For the three years the male and I traveled together I killed most of the monsters that found and encountered us. The most he ever did was kill some stupid goblins that stole his boots because he had taken them off when he chose to place his feet in the river on the way to the middle sector. I told him not to do it but he didn't listen to me-he literally ignored me for an entire year. He was supposed to protect me, but he didn't. I ended up having to be the one to protect him!" She said through her tears

Sylus didn't like what he was hearing, what man let a woman protect him?! It should be the other way around. "May I ask why didn't he protect you?"

"He was jealous that I was friends with Count Vince's youngest son Syrus, it was Syrus who first taught me how to write and read, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have gotten so far. I repaid what he had taught me by saving his family though. That dumb boy I traveled with would always leave me behind and each time he did he would get himself into deep crap because he would always be whistling while he walked-knowing darn well that monster prey on the sounds of humans. Even after the conflict was resolved and I figured out that he was jealous nothing changed. Even after I ended up being wounded, I still had to protect his useless butt while he slept. He wouldn't let me sleep an ounce once he did, he would always kick me awake and then fall asleep."

"I leave here in two weeks, when I do I am defiently  taking you with me." Sylus said before he made her look up at him. "No lady, especially a princess should have to fight for their lives if a man is supposed to be their protector."

"D-Does this mean you have means to protect me?" She asked sniffling as she looked up at him sadly

"I have more than a means to protect you, if I ever see that bastard that let you get hurt and not sleep I will fight him. You better not try to protect him."

She shook her head quickly before she placed her head against his chest. "I won't, I'm done trying to be nice to him. He's too stupid to understand what he did was wrong. He needs to be put in his place. He is Sir Zayne's son that I traveled with."

"The Generals son? Truly? That man has a spineless bastard for a son, he better shape his son up or we'll have an issue."

"Sir Zayne is more than a bit irate at his son for what he's done and not done." Reina spoke as she looked up at him sadly
