Reina took Xavier to where Zayne was, Zayne smiled at the Princess. "Evening, did he talk to you?"

"YES! Who the hell do you think you are choosing for me who is best or not to protect me?!" She said angered

Zayne looked taken back hearing how angered she was, never in the years raising her did he ever see her angered. Knowing that she was now made him realize he had messed up big time with the young princess.

"Princess, there are better suited for you."

"Oh really, how many of those meanies would look down at me? How many of them would make me feel like I don't know what I'm saying or doing?! How many of them will think they know better than someone like myself?!" Reina said increasingly getting more irate as she spoke

Zayne shrunk where he stood before he let out a sigh "I had no idea you felt so passionate about my son."

"He is the only one I believe is best for the job. Yes on the way to the middle sector he was a liability but he's changed. I can tell he has. If you do not allow me to have your son as my guard I will personally tell my parents everything that you've done wrong raising me!" She hissed out coldly

Zayne placed his hands up. "Alright- Alright, I will let you chose who you wish Princess. No need to do that."

"That's what I thought!" She hissed out coldly before she looked at Xavier "You are my friend, you are the only person I feel like I can trust to protect me. You are to never leave me got that?! Without you around I could easily die and that can't happen."

Xavier nodded his head. "Yes princess, of course."

"And stop that! Call me Reina for cry now loud! We've been friends for eleven years, you've more than earned calling me my name. You are the only person outside of my family I am willingly allowing to call me that."

"Are you sure?"

"Very, now get your things and meet me in the castle library that is where I will be. I look forward to seeing you at my side again Xavier." She said with a smile before she walked away happily

Xavier let out a tired sigh "To think...I was worried she'd slap me against the face for wanting to leave back home."

"I honestly thought she'd be happy to see you go back, guess her time around her family has made her think twice about it." Zayne said shaking his head

Xavier went to get his things and as he did two of the men who bunked with him came up to him. "Leaving out already?"

"Princess Reina has asked for me specifically to protect her so I'm going to be around her from here on out." Xavier stated

The males scoffed "Those royals are all so damn stupid, why the hell would you of all people need to protect someone like that for?"

Xavier put his bag on his back before he glared at the two males. "Princess Reina is my friend, I've known her for eleven fucking years. She was born and raised in an orphanage before my father and mother took her in. She is powerful and very intelligent. There is no reason to talk down a woman neither one of you know." He said before he pushed past both of them and left the camp

When he got to the castle he was taken to where Reina was in the library reading. When she heard the library door open she smiled seeing her friend. "Good you're here. From here on out you go where I go, so allow me to take you to my room where you can place your bag Xavier." She said happily

"Sure thing Reina."

She got up and she shut her book before the two of them walked the halls, Xavier looked around stunned. "Holy crap this place is huge."

"I'm aware, I get lost rather easily if it wasn't for the different arrows up above." She said pointing to the arrows at each corner

"Oh wow. So how have you been as of late?"

"Conflicted." She said sadly

"Oh? Want to talk about it? I am going to be your protector from here on out. I'd like to know what you've gone through."

Reina nodded her head and she held the book she had in her hands tightly, she told him about from the moment she got back to the castle and what had happened with her in each section of the middle sector. He raised an eyebrow at her. "So you met up with Countess Viven, is she as scary as Syrus made her out to be?"

"Nope, she's a sweet woman. The only reason he's scared of her is because he got himself a bit too drunk and slept with her. Now because of that she has been rather obsessed with having him and only him by her side." Reina said with a smile

"Interesting, so this prince you talked about, you seemed rather upset talking about him. What's going on with that?"

Reina stopped at her door and turned to look at him. "Xavier...I am going to be very honest with you. Over the last week and so being around him. I...I believe I've fallen in love with him. Just knowing that he had left me after the first night of us sleeping beside one another when he was the one who wanted me so close...I feel like he doesn't wish for me to be close to him after that. I wish to place my trust into him but I don't see how I can if he doesn't speak to me about things before rushing off on me like he had." She said sadly

Xavier's green eyes widened hearing what she said and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Reina, that's rather risky of you to do. You know that right?"

She teared up as she looked up at him. "I...I know. I'm afraid of getting close to him now because of what has happened. He wishes to court me but I don't know if I can accept being around someone who won't outwardly say what happens with them around me." She said before she broke down crying into her hands "I feel like I am nothing but an ugly duck to him because of what has happened!"

Xavier hugged her tightly rubbing her back softly. "In time you'll know what to do, you are a very smart young lady Reina, even before my parents took you in. I promise you that you won't ever have to deal with that man alone if you don't want to."

She held onto his shirt tightly as she sobbed out against him. "T-Thank you...Thank you so much Xavier. Y-You're a good friend to me."
