Chapter 12: The woods

Ashlyn groaned as she tugged through the woods, the rest of this odd group behind her. Ben, Aiden, obviously. Because this trip was for Ben. Taylor came, and Tyler too. Wanting to spend time with each other.

And Logan.

The one who got her into this situation. Ashlyn grumbled. She couldn't stay mad at him. He was just being nice. Even if....

She shuddered at the thought.

Even if that happened last year.

She wondered if it had healed yet. If that creature was still dead? Or was it alive?

She didn't know, and frankly, she didn't want to find out.

Aiden hummed as he looked at Ashlyn. She seemed tensed. He wondered why. It wasn't like they were going anywhere bad, right?

Right?

Aiden walked ahead, humming to himself. The woods were boring. They were to peaceful. Or at least, these woods were.

He sighed. Why did he do this again?

Oh yeah.

Because he wanted to get to know ash better. Damn. It was just supposed to be him, Ashlyn, and Ben on this trip. Not everyone else.

Aiden grumbled to himself. He sighed, looking ahead.

"Ooh. What's that?" He pointed ahead, and the others looked to.

There stood a cabin. A very, very old cabin. It was run down and rotting, a hole in the roof. Overgrown grass towards the front—and the windows were shattered.

Ashlyn and Logan paled.

Fuck.

Aiden please—

"Let's go check it out!" Aiden declared.

Ashlyn and Logan both looked at each other, cursing.

Fuck.
