Tyler sighed as he walked down the hall. He got most of his duties done, but he still had some things to do.

And fortunately for him, babysitting the prince wasn't one of them.

But unfortunately for him, Aiden always made it that way.

He talked Tyler's ear off as they walked. Tyler wanted to whip around and punch him so bad, but he needed this job. He couldn't afford to lose it. He had a family at home to think about. And...

He wanted to repay the Fields too.

But god, even with that in mind it took everything Tyler had in him to be a civil human being. Why was their prince like this?

Aiden walked besides Tyler, cackling to himself. God—Tyler was his favorite guard. Not to talk to or anything.

God—no.

Being friends with this halfwit?

What could be worse? He'd rather be crushed to death.

He loved to annoy Tyler. And he knew just the ways to do it.

Which continently for him, was anyway.

Because Tyler was kind of an asshole. At least, in his—no. No in everybody's book actually. Didn't matter though.

He was bored. So it was time to have some fun.

"Sooo...." Aiden said as they walked. "...how you doing?"

Tyler grunted, walking past Aiden.

Aiden smirked. "What? Not in a talking mood? You're usually much more talkative."

"Shut up Aiden."

"Hey now that's no way to speak to your prince! I'm just trying to have a conversation with one of the very loyal knights."

"Don't care."

"Well your prince is bored. Sooo I need you to entertain me."

"Nope."

"Well I—"

Tyler groaned and turned around. "Aiden. I'm busy. Really busy. That ball festival thingy is coming up, and our commander has us doing more. So please, leave me alone."

Aiden pondered it for a second. "Mmm....nope. I don't think I will.!"

Tyler grunted. "You're an ass."

Aiden cackled. "Then why do you tolerate me more than the others?"

"What?"

"The other knights. Most of them are tired of me, but you're still here!"

"...that's just sad man."

"Yeah I know. Anyways what's this I hear about a festival ball thingy?"

Tyler stared at him blankly. "...You mean, June 3? The day the damn kingdom was formed? Our anniversary?"

"Is that what that is?"

"You didn't fucking know?!"

Aiden shrugged. "Psh. Details. Why would I bother myself with that?"

Tyler grunted. He clenched his fists. "Because your—" he took a deep breath. Don't hit him. Don't hit him. You still need this job. "Because your the prince?"

"So?"

Tyler sighed.

This.

Little.

Shit.

"You know what? No. Ask your dad." Tyler began to walk off."

"Bold of you to assume they pay attention to me!"

"Yeah yeah whatever man!"
