As the sun rose over another day on the kingdom, Taylor rose with it. She smiled, getting out of bed and putting on her dress. A simple red dress, but she loved it.
And it was great for working in the shop. But today! She had her day off. Today she would make it her duty to get her responsibilities done.
And not procrastinate.
.
.
.Yeah, today wasn't going to be very productive, was it?
Taylor sighed. She hummed to herself, thinking. No today would be productive! Today she would do so many things! So she needed to focus!
Walking to the other room, Taylor was surprised to see her mom already up. She sighed, a soft smile on her face.
"Hey mom!" Taylor greeted, hugging her mom.
Her mother, Marianna, smiled. "Good Morning Dear. Would you mind waking your brother up?"
Taylor sighed. Oh. It was one of those kind of days. She sighed to herself.
"Actually, we should go to the market today. We need more eggs and stuff don't we?"Marianna thought for a moment. "Yes...we do."
Taylor smiled. "Great! Then we should go, right?"
Marianna smiled. "Yes, we should. Are the Fields coming as well?"
Taylor shook her head. "Nah. Logan had something to do today. Not sure what though."
Truth be told, the boy had been acting strange recently. Real strange. He had been jumpier than usual. When she saw him the other day he seemed fine but...
Something was off.
Taylor wondered. Maybe...
Maybe it had to do something with the reason Ashlyn didn't visit?
She didn't know why her friend never came to visit, but she saw it had taken a toll on Logan. He would never voice it himself, but she could see he missed the red haired girl.
Taylor shook her head. No, she would ask later! Right now, her focus should be on her mom!
Putting on their shoes, the two left to the market. It was a bustling place, always busy. Stands of all kind lined in rows and rows. People shouting, it was always bustling with energy. Taylor smiled. It out a smile on her face, seeing how peaceful this kingdom was. It was good too.
They didn't have to worry about much that way. Nothing but making sure mom and Tyler were ok.
Taylor wandered around, Marianna close behind. Alright! Eggs. That's all they needed. Taylor turned and—
"Oof!"
Taylor grunted, having bumped into someone. He was a bit of a tall man, with a shaved head and pale skin. Taylor recognized him. Ryan, he worked at the local butcher shop, didn't he?
Taylor waved her hand apologetically.
"Sorry!"Ryan smiled, hand on his neck. "Ah, it's fine, just watch where you're walking next time."
Taylor smiled and bowed apologetically again. Mariana sighed. "Taylor dear, please. He said it was fine. And we have places to be."
Taylor nodded and the two left, going to retrieve the eggs they needed.
Ryan smiled. His smile slowly faded though.
.
.
.
"I'm sorry."

As they got home, Taylor sighed as she walked through the door. What a day."Busy day eh?"
"Yeah. You won't believe—TYLER?"
Tyler chuckled as Taylor realized he was home. It always took her a minute. But it was worth it, to see that big smile on her face. Marianna greeted him warmly, giving him a hug.
Taylor on the other hand, ran across the room and tackled him in a hug, causing the young knight to fall to the ground.
"Ow! Son of a bitch...Tayyyyyyyyy! Did you really need to tackle me?!"
"Yes!"
"No you did not!"
"It's payback!"
"Payback for what?!"
"For not visiting more often! We miss you y'know!"
"You're so damn dramatic!"
"Says the broody knight!"
Tyler gasped, offended. "I'm not broody!"
Taylor stuck her tongue out at him. "Broodiest knight in existence."
Tyler grunted. "You're an asshole, you know that?"
Taylor smirked. "If I'm an asshole, what does that make you? You're worse than me."
Tyler rolled his eyes, pushing Taylor off of him. "Suddenly, I'm regretting my decision to come and see you guys."
Taylor gasped dramatically. Tyler laughed. God—he loved his twin. Trips home were the best. Tyler looked to his mom, she had settled into a chair, reading a book. He smiled sadly.
"...how's mom?"
Taylor sighed. "..I dunno. Ok I guess? I'm not as good with her as you are, but I think she's getting better..! Maybe..?"
Tyler sighed. "And...?"
"This morning."
"Who was it this time..?"
"You.."
Tyler raised an eyebrow. "Well...at least it wasn't dad. That's progress? Right?"
Taylor nodded. "Yeah! Progress! She's getting better! I know she is!"
"Who is?" Marianna asked. Tyler and Taylor both flinched.
"Uhhhh....."
"UHHHHH ASHLYN IS!" Taylor answered quickly. "SHE HAD A COLD AND TYLER TOLD ME SHE WAS GETTING BETTER!"
Marianna hummed. "Poor dear. I hope she feels better soon..!"
Tyler and Taylor nodded. Tyler sighed and jabbed Taylor lightly.
"Nice thinking. Using your brain for once."Taylor jabbed him back. "Jerk."
Tyler laughed.
It really couldn't get much better than this.
