Chapter 21: Almost time

Ashlyn marched through the halls. She huffed. Aiden was getting on her last nerves!

Ashlyn grunted as she bumped into Ben. "Ah. Sorry."

Ben nodded, a sign that it was fine. Ashlyn sighed. "You wouldn't happen to know where your cousin is, would you?"

Ben shook his head. "I think he ran off to bother Tyler earlier, why?" He signed.

"No reason.." Ashlyn looked away.

Ben looked at Ashlyn. He hummed. "Is something wrong?" He signed.

"No I'm fine Ben, thanks."

"But you look stressed. Is this about the incident or...?"

Ashlyn huffed. "Yeah..kinda. Aiden won't stop bothering me about it."

Ben grimaced. "Yeah. Sounds like Aiden. I'm really sorry about him."

"Aiden should be sorry.." Ashlyn sighed. "I'm just..on edge I guess?"

"Well...Taylor told me your birthday is coming up soon, when is it again?" Ben signed.

"June 3..and before you say anything, I know it's the anniversary of the kingdom."

Ben smiled. "I'm aware. Taylor invited me and Aiden by the way.."

Ashlyn grunted. "Of course she fucking did."

Ben pat Ashlyn's head. "If you want, I can distract Aiden on the day of so he leaves you alone?"

Ashlyn sighed. "Yeah. That would be great Ben, thanks."

Ben smiled. "No problem."
