What is happening right now? Everyone is running here and there as if a lion is unleashed on them. Or morelike a raging Bull is chasing them. Are they really so much scared of those Britishers that they don't even want to be seen in front of them?

Megha took my hand and started pulling me with the running crowd. I asked her what happened but she told me to be quiet and follow her. Well, okay.......I guess.

I was following her when I didn't notice when I bumped straight into someone but that lady immediately said sorry and left running away to somewhere else. What a strange day!

As we came out of the temple, she didn't left my hand and was taking me to God knows where. What was even more strange was the fact that even the high priest was hella scared for some unknown reason. He was also guiding people out of the temple and the fire of havan was also forcefully extinguished and saying sorry to the gods infront of them, those priests also left the temple from the back door.

While we were walking, the temple was getting smaller and out of the sight and we were walking with the crowd and following them back into the village. As we reached the lines of the nearby cottages, I couldn't believe, everyone went in those 8-9 cottages and even the people who lived there, didn't say anything and let us in.

So strange. We also entered one. The one we were in was of Sia's and with us were her, her parents and some more children under our care. As we reached inside, her parents locked the door from inside and the lady looked like as if she will faint any moment now while the little girl was crying. How can they do this? They ruined this little girl's birthday. I can't believe it.

I asked Megha about why we were running away but she told me that the Captain was coming. The captain? Who? As I asked her, she looked at me strangely and asked me if I am joking.

I sighed and said that does it feel like I am joking? She shook her head in no and said that the captain is coming here and the whole village is scared of him. He is infamous for his ruthlessness and his cruelty. We are so scared of him that we avoid getting in front of him at all. If anyone does comes in his sight, that person will either be his slave for his leftime or he will have to work in tranfering goods from here to his country and it is said he beats them in both cases and so we thought that it's better that we don't get in front of his sight.

I asked about what happened that he is here. She raised her shoulders and said she can't make a guess and when I asked any example of his evil deeds, she said that only 3 days before, dead bodies of a couple was found at the entrance gate of the village and it looked like they both were shot. The man was shot for atleast 5-6 times while the woman was more brutally killed as the bullet sliced her neck.

Ouch, that must have hurt so much. How can a human do something like this demonic and then continue to live as if nothing happened? I feel like pucking just by hearing this.

Just then she said that they had 3 daughter and one son. And now as the sisters are big, thankfully they were not taken as slaves and they are taking care of their only brother.

It must be so painful for them. I can't even imagine their pain's level. I don't who the 'captain' is but I hate him already. If I get the chance, I would love to give him a painful death, myself.

As we were talking, I looked at the little girl again and seeing her crying, I couldn't stop myself from going towards her and sit by her side. That man, not only did he do all those evil deeds but he also runied this little girl's birthday, I will never forgive him.

As I sat by her side, I said hi and she looked at me and asked, crying if we won't be celebrating her birthday. I hugged her lightly and said that we will buy not now. Then she asked me about what happened and why we came here suddenly, so in reply, I made up a story and said,

"You see, there is one monster who wants to capture this village and eat it's people. He lives in a dark cave and only comes out when he senses people celebrating something. Today, because we were celebrating your, he sensed our presence and in order to protect our precious birthday girl and ourselves, we hid inside of our houses so that he won't be able to find us. But don't worry, we will celebrate your birthday once he goes back to his cave. Now stop crying, okay?"

She looked at me and nodded while her tears with her cute little hands. And then I took her in my lap and let her play with my bangles so as to distract herself and rested my head against the wall.

After few hours

"Isha uth, ab uth bhi ja."(Isha wake, wake up now.)

Huh? What happened? I slowly opened my eyes and looked at Megha infront of me while she was shaking me. The moment I opened my eyes completely, I looked around me and saw that now no one was inside. I looked at Megha in front and asked where is everyone?

She said that all of them are outside and are waiting for me. I looked at her in complete shock and asked her whether I slept or what? She said that I was sleeping this whole time while the whole village is now decorating the outside to have the feast and as the morning Pooja was left unfinished, the sarpanch also helped in the evening feast and the whole village is invited.

So many things happened while I was sleeping. I do sleep like a log then, without caring about anything else. Then I asked her about the captain who was coming, she said that after few moments of staying here, one man went out to check if he left or not and only came back after making sure that he left the border of the village and even saw him, disappearing into the forest and only then did the villagers came out of their houses and now they are decorating the outside trees and have decided a campfire feast.

Oh wow, that sounds so exciting. I stood up, fixed my dress, and taking on my veil again, I came out with Megha and from the ground, I looked up and the sight before me was none less than a fantasy.

So many diyas kept on the chaukhat of the houses, many tables were kept in a circle and on the tables, many types of food, sweets and snacks. On one table, was full of gifts and most beautiful part was, even jugnus were flying, making the scenario look so more beautiful. The sky was completely dark but on the ropes' many lartens were hanging and it looked so beautiful, just like out of a movie.

We started walking forward and just then Sia came running towards me and hugged me, I took her in my arms and started walking further while talking to her and only stopped when we were in front the sweets. I was so much sweets right now that I can't explain. I asked her if she anything, she nodded her head but then said that she also wants to eat the sweets, I smiled and said that then, I will feed her. She grinned and said okay. Good girl I replied and then picked up a besan's ladoo and made her eat it, bite by bite. When she finished, I made her stand, took off my veil in order to eat, took one rasgulla and squeezing some of its juice in the bowl, I directly shoved it inside my mouth when I heard Megha saying,"Tu thik h? Koi chinn nhi rha tha wo rasgulla."(You alright? Nobody was trying to steal that rasgulla.)

I shook my head as no and said that I love to eat it like this. And as I was about to say further, she cutting me off, said,"oye, tu ek kaan me hi jhumka pehen ke aayi thi kya?"(Hey, were you wearing the earring in only one ear?)

I said no but then she gestured me to check my ears and I found out that I had only one earring in my left ear. Where's the other one? Did it drop somewhere? Maybe, that time when I bumped into that lady, it got off and dropped. Oh gosh, I lost my earring. Now how will I use this single one?

I told Megha everything and made a sad crying face, seeing which she lightly slapped me and said to buy another one. I then, took one rasgulla out and shoved the whole thing inside her mouth when she opened her mouth to speak and with the rasgulla in her mouth, I am sure she was cursing me but I ran away before she hit me. And then started enjoying the feast by only eating food.
