After being cooped up in her room yesterday, Lillian was up and showered early. Her date with yeah-yeah was the cause of that.

Lilly was a nervous wreck. She didn't know what to wear or how to act. She wished her and Abby were on talking terms. Abby was great with stuff like this. But since she had no other girl friends to talk to about stuff like this she went to the person she wanted to tell least. Her mom.

She took a long sigh before walking into her parents room. Her mom was laid in bed flipping through the TV channel.
"Hey mom, can I talk to you?" Lilly said, sitting down on her parents bed.
"About what sweetie" her mom asked, giving her full attention to her daughter.

Lilly looked at her dads curious figure signaling he should leave before she continued.

Mr.Phillips got the feeling he wasn't wanted at the moment. He looked between his wife and daughter and figured they needed to talk about female stuff. He threw his hands up in surrender and stood up to go search for his son.

When the room held the only person Lillian wanted to talk she spilled everything besides the part with her and Julian hating each other, she thought it was best to leave that part out.

Yeah-yeah was up early ready to start his day. After he was showered he grabbed his baseball material and went to the sandlot. Besides Smalls and Benny, there was no one else there yet
"Hey, whats up guys" Yeah-yeah went up to the two boys and gave them a bro hug.

Soon all the guys were at the sandlot. Well all the guys minus Kenny, and without Kenny they had no pitcher so they continued waiting a bit longer.

"Hey don't you have a date today" Tommy said to Yeah-Yeah.
"Yeah, yeah" He nodded his head sheepishly, he knew what was coming next.

All the guys started making kissing noises, teasing him. He wasn't sure why they were teasing him though, he was going out with a great girl that was extremely beautiful. If anything he was winning.
"Where ya going?" Smalls asked. He was the only one that didn't find this as big joke.

"We're-"
"Take her too the movies" Bertram said, not giving Yeah-yeah the chance to finish his sentence.
"Yeah, chicks dig that kind of stuff"
Squints pipped in, slapping Yeah-yeahs chest.

"How would you know?" Benny asked. He took the words right out of Yeah-yeahs mouth.

"I took Wendy to the movies, she was all over me" Squints replied a bit to proudly.

Yeah-yeah and the rest of the guys knew that was a load of shit. Wendy would never go for squints.

"Ha! In your dreams" Kenny said emerging in the group of teens.
Squints huffed in annoyance "So are we gonna play or what?"

They all nodded their heads and went to play their usual game of baseball.

Once Lillian was done telling her mom how great of a guy Yeah-yeah was and about her date tonight Mrs.Phillips was on the verge of tears, one reason why Lillian didn't wanna tell her mother. Mrs.Phillips was happy for a her daughter. She was growing up. Soon she'll be an adult and having her own children, the emotions were to much. Once she finally calmed down she gushed with Lillian and insisted on going out to buy a dress for here big night.

.....

After hours and hours of shopping with her mother, Lillian was in the comfort of her own room getting ready for her big night. It was 7:30 she she didn't have much time.

For the first time in forever she put her long hair in a ponytail and let her bangs fall down over her eyes. Lilly put on her usual amount of make up, not wanting to go all out and finally put on her new red dress with white polka dots.

By time she was done it was 7:50 and yeah-yeah would be showing up any minute. Lillian walked downstairs and was greeted by her parents. Her mother showed a look of proudness while her dad looked like a deer in headlights. His little girl was growing up and he wasn't ready.

Before either of her parents got to speak the doorbell rang signaling someone was at the door. They all three knew who it was, so Lilly bolted towards it before her parents could. She opened the door and there stood Yeah-yeah looking as great as ever. He had on a red, blue and white plaid button up and regular dark jeans. He wasn't too dressed up or dressed down but still those were ether nicest clothing Lilly ever saw him in. The sight of him caused butterflies to have a festival in Lillian's stomach.

Her reaction was the same as his. He was at a lose for words. She looked stunning. Not that she didn't looking stunning everyday to him but tonight she was even more beautiful if that was even possible.
But once Yeah-yeah's eye caught sight of Mr.Phillips hovering over his daughter protectively, he got nervous.

Lillian noticed his change of facial express and looked to see what happened. When her eyes caught sigh of her dad she rolled her eyes and grabbed a hold oh Yeah-yeah's hand
"Have my daughter home by 9:40 Young man" he said sternly. His tuff guy act wasnt fooling anybody, but Yeah-yeah of course. Lillian knew her dad and she also knew he couldn't hurt a fly.

Yeah-yeah tried to assure Mr.Howell he would do just as told but his words came out stammered.

Lilly thought it was adorable how nervousness he was but she figured enough was enough. "Ok we're leaving now" she pulled him out the door, before her parents embarrassed her.

Once she heard the front door close she knew they were alone without her protective dad watching. Or her helpless romantic of a mom gushing over the two.
Yeah-yeah pulled her in for a quick kiss on the cheek before walking towards the Valley fair.
