"That's not what I meant.. you don't look like a mom, you act like one! No.. sorry that came out wrong too. What I'm trying to say is you're always there for us. Who helped out Tommy with his first girlfriend? And who helped cover up smalls face with makeup after he took a homerun to the eye so his mom wouldn't find out? Oh yeah! and who helped me get a new pair of glasses when I cracked mine?"

"I did.."

"Exactly, Tiger Lily!" Squints enthusiasm sent a smile on Lillian's frowning face, his attempts to cheer her up was evidently working. "Now lets go back to the sandlot before all the guys come bumrushing in here"

Leaving the comfort of Lillian's room the two made it back outside and soon on the patch of dirt they both grown to love. A group of cheers were heard from pubescent boys on the lot causing a blush to rise from Lillian's face.

"And she's here!" Benny beamed, throwing his arms around  the fragile girl. "And she's here to stay, right?"

"Of course" Lilly smiled, causing all the boys to cheer again. It astonished her how much they all cared about her and her feelings. These guys were basically her brothers and she wouldn't give them up for the world.

"Good! Now take a seat and watch the magic happen baby" Ham announced, earning another laugh from Lilly who did as she was told.

As the boys made their way to the playing field tommy made sure to stay behind for a few until he was ushered by everyone. "It's good to have you back" Tommy expressed, before running off to the middle of the field.

One Month Later

Yeah-yeah now had better visiting hours, at least once every month was he allowed to come home for the weekend then he was back to school. Sometimes he was even allowed visitors for a few hours, luckily for Lillian today was visiting day. It wasn't the first time she got to see yeah-yeah since he left but every time she was able to tag along with his family and go to him she still got small butterflies in her stomach. As the McClennan parked their car in the lot, everyone packed in the car climbed out and walked towards the entrance. While inside the parents signed in while Lillian and Alexia conversed. One flight of stairs and a hallway later they were outsides yeah-yeahs bedroom.

"Come in" He yelled, Even the tone of his voice was different he seemed almost more serious. Turning the steel nob the family entered. As the familiar face spilled in Yeah-yeah's man like stance broke down. He couldn't deny that he missed his family more then anything. Some days he wished nothing more but to just go home.

But he knew in order to be a real man (as his dad usually put it.) Being here was necessary.
Wasting no time, Yeah-yeah pulled his parents into a tight embrace, then Alexia and lastly Lillian, Their hug lasted longer then the others the reason being both of them didn't want to be the first one to let go first, as if they could both just disappear at any given moment.
"I missed you" Lillian pouted, finally being the one to pull apart

"I missed you more"

An hour into Yeah-yeahs visit him and Lillian found themselves separated from his family and outside, feeling the cold air bite the tip of their now red noses.

As the talked about everything new that was now going on in their lifethey were interrupted by a boy their age, someone Lillian has yet to meet.
"Hey Alan!" The boy waved before continuing to walk towards the building

"Hey man!" Yeah-yeah called out

"Alan?" Lillian laughed "Since when did you like going by your first name?"

"I always liked my first name, I've always preferred it"

Lillian knew that was a lie. She even remembered the day clearly we he talked about hating his name. "But you said–"

"Drop it. My names Alan so I would prefer if you called me Alan." Yeah-yeah said, his voice was almost tense which made Lillian stare at him in shock.

She didn't wanna anger the boy anymore so she let it go. And they sat in silence until it was time for her to go.

As Yeah-yeah gave his family their goodbye hug him and Lillian's last moments were rather distant then before and everyone could tell but the parents more Alexia decided to speak on it and soon they were back inside the car driving back to the valley. Throughout the whole car ride Lillian couldn't help but to think about How Much Alan changed. Actually she never knew Alan. She knew Yeah-yeah but if this was how Alan was Lillian wasn't sure if she wanted to get to know him.
