Before the two knew it, it was the end of July and the beginning of August. Today Yeah-Yeah was leaving.
Lilly wished she knew he was leaving a few months earlier because time flew by fast and she felt as if every hour they spent together could've been used to do more fun things besides watching him play at the sandlot for hours and occasionally laying on her bed talking about random things. But their time was up and nothing more could be done.
That early morning at 6:40 Lillian was the only one awake in her house. The McClennan's invited her to come to the train station with them and she couldn't say no, she had to be there to see him leave.

Sitting at the station with The two adults his little sister and him, Lillian clung onto the boy she so deeply adored as if her life depended on it. She didn't wanna let him go."I'm gonna miss you" She whispered in his ear. So only he could hear her.
"I know.. I'm gonna miss you too." Yeah-yeah said equally as quiet.
On the inside he was a reck but he wasn't gonna show it.
"Don't be sad" He added
"Better said then done.."
From afar the sound of the train chugging their way echoed through the station and Lillian knew this was over. She let go of him and gave his parents and Alexia a chance to bid their farewells to their only son/brother.
As Mrs.McClennan wrapped her son in her arms she couldn't control the tears threatening to spill from her eyes nor did she bother to wipe them when a few fell down. Her first child was being sent away for a few years, she had ever right to cry.
Finally when they were done it was Lillian's turn, for the last time, they held each other tightly, both of them never wanting to let go.
The train came to a sudden stop waiting for all the passengers to board, it took all of Lilian's will power to pull away, each movement that brought their two body's away from each other was a living hell.
"I'll mail you and call you as much as I can, okay?"
Lilly simply nodded, with a few stray tears falling down her eyes. This wasn't how she pictured everything ending.
The toot of the train broke them out their intense eye glare, reminding the duo how real this all was.
Before grabbing his bags and walking away from the people he loved, Yeah-yeah gently grabbed Lillian's face for the last time and kissed her, the kiss was filled with passion and sorrow, one they never experienced before. If it wasn't for the circumstance it probably would've been the best kiss they ever had.
"I love you."Yeah-yeah grabbed his bags and walked inside the train. He made sure to get a window seat so he could see his loved ones slowly fade away out of view.
The train doors closed, the wheels started moving and that's when they all felt even. more broken. Waving from the other side of the glass and watching. Watching until the train was no longer seen or heard.
Walking out the station the family got many sympathetic smiles and Lillian couldn't help but wonder if they all looked as broken as they felt.
As they drove back to town it finally hit Lilly that, Yeah-yeah told her he loved, which was the first time those words left his mouth since they've dated. The realization made Lilly's eyes water for the 100th time today. She didn't even get to say it back.

Fanfiction"You need to allow me to help you" It's not that Lillian hated the sandlot boys, to be honest hate wasn't even in her vocabulary. It was more like she was forbidden to associate with the characters. but fate had other things in store. COPYRIGHT ©...
