A/N: heyyyyyyyyyyy...... so sorry for the long wait for an update..... I swear I'm working on stuff it's just been writers block and life got in the way, so I spent my time seeing twisters twice and that's how I found the inspiration for this one. Any waysssss I like how Tyler has this tough guy persona in the movie and how he's always taking care of Kate and making sure that's she's alright.... But what if he wasn't alright and Kate puts together a plan and gets the rest of the team involved?? So that's what we're working with today. I have issues and I don't know what to do other than write a story with the Chad over that I like ,Anyways.... There might be some spoilers so wait a while for the next one and maggiesfluffworld I am working on your request so don't worry! -Nico

It had been a long day of tornado chasing and Tyler was begging to feel extremely tired but had slept fine the night before, Kate being Kate tried to check up on him multiple times since it had gone with out saying they were together but he avoided the question brushing it off as not enough sleep. Kate of course didn't fall for it and started coming up with a plan getting all the members of their team involved including her mom( who they were staying with for the time being) , " what should we do mamma? He's obviously exhausted and not feeling well but won't admit it to me. He's always helping me but... I don't know" Kate asked panicked, tyler had tried to stay up beat while they chased each storm but was failing. " wait till he comes to you, everyone has a breaking point at some point and his is probably soon so don't push it" her mom responds Next she goes to Boone who Tyler is the closet with almost like brothers , " Boone I need your help. I think Tyler's sick but he won't admit anything, what do you normally do? I mean you've been friends with him for a while right?" She frantically asked, " yeah he's like a brother to me. It's been a while normally he just gets withdrawn but that was before he meet someone he cared about. He also rarely gets sick but when he does it hits him hard and it hits him fast. Normally till he pushes his body to the breaking point. Was that any help ?" Boone asked a bit shyly as he felt like he was betraying his best friend. The others had similar responses to the question it was a hassle but they came to a conclusion that If Tyler didn't admit it then they would make him.
Once they were done and ready for dinner Kate went to the guest room to get Tyler only to see him knocked out on the bed fully clothed and she didn't know if it was her imagination but she could see him shivering slightly, walking over she sat down on the edge of the bed and gently pushed his sweaty bangs off his forehead also feeling for a fever at the same time. "Tyler it's time for dinner, c'mon get up" Kate says softly slightly shaking him but got no response so she tried again but still nothing was working and it was getting worrisome until he finally opened his eyes which were glossed over with fever confirming that he was indeed sick and had been hiding it from her keeping his macho man act up. " Kate? You said it was time for dinner? Already? I just fell asleep for a few minutes I swear" he mumbled trying his best not to fall back asleep cause the pounding in his head was now affecting his stomach.
Once the whole team was seated they started talking about what storms they were going after and what their next steps were in the research of disrupting a tornado. They kept trying to get Tyler into the conversation but each time they were met with him and his head on the table obviously exhausted. They had also noticed he had barely touched his diner which was very unlike him, "I don't know about y'all but I'm worn out from today's excitement" Tyler added looking paler than normal.
Following him into the house Kate pulled him into his room and sat him on his bed " listen I know you're over worked Tyler... this isn't you and I'm worried. It's making you sick it's not good, I'm telling you right now we're taking a break from chasing until your well rested and are feeling much better, also don't try to hide the fact you have a fever I could feel it when I was waking you up earlier and by the looks of it it's fairly high" Kate rambled on not noticing Tyler growing three shades paler from guilt and from the growing uneasiness " I'm sorry I hid this from you I just-" he broke off covering a cough making him wince in pain as it sent a shooting pain through his head once again. Racing towards the bathroom he stopped in front of the sink turning on the water and splashing his face with the cool water the relief didn't last long as he collapsed never to the toilet loosing what food he had eaten which wasn't much. Kate was by his side in an instant whispering soothing words into his ear and brushing his hair back, " I gotta go grab the thermometer I'll be right back Ty" she whispers running down stairs to the cabinet where she knows the medicine stuff is but can't find it. Turning around she comes face to face with her mom " so he finally reached that point huh? I could tell he wasn't alright during dinner but didn't wanna say anything" she commented handing Kate the thermometer and a box of fever reducers.
Once Kate returned to the bathroom she saw a sight that broke her heart, Tyler on the floor of the bathroom asleep for what looked like the first time in a while. They had both been trying to recover from the EF5 tornado that Kate had almost died in, he looked so peaceful that she felt bad waking him up. " Ty I gotta check your fever , come on wake up for me can you do that?" She asked softly brushing his hair aside again. Once temp was taken and medicine was given Kate helped a very tired Tyler to bed and climbed in besisde him holding him close, soon after her mom walked in smiling as she knew that Kate had finally found peace and happiness , with that she smiled and closed the door telling the crew to keep it down as Kate and Tyler were asleep, few days passed and they were back to storm chasing once again!! Hey guysssss, so this took longer than I expected. I have now seen this movie three times now and well this fanfic is over 1000 words ooops.... Well it's now almost 6:00 AM EST here so imma head to bed!! Please comment so I have something to look forward to when I wake up!!! It means a lot to me... well that's all for now!!! -nico
