A/N: And we're back at it again folks!! If I'm being honest here idk how many more part of this book I'll be writing, work is starting to pick up since all the lower class men are going back to school and all that jazz. I'm up to working a lot of hours and once I get him I'm completely burnt out, as for this fanfiction idea I've been watching the show unstable which has rob Lowe and his son in it. It's a very funny show but has little to no fanfiction so I thought why not change that, I hope you all enjoy and keep reading my fics while I'm gone for a bit!! I have other drafts that I'll be working on when I have the time but I can't promise anything new will be out for a while. This is not a goodbye or that I'm finishing this book it's more of I'm going to put it on hold for a bit until I can figure out how to keep writing while I'm working these long ass shifts. The morning had started off normal, well normal as it could be in the Dragon house hold. Well it was normal-ish, minus the fact that Jackson had been feeling run down for the past couple of days. He thought it was just the stress that his dad was putting on him but when that wasn't the case he just thought it was stress in general. So when his dad came to wake him up because he over slept he just rolled over and grunted, " Jackson bud it's time to wake up we'll be late for work." His over dramatic dad called from the door, once again he just grunted pulling the covers up over him. " Jackson come on we don't have time and I'm being totally serious right- Jackson your burning up!" Ellis exclaimed when he felt the heat radiating from his son. " no im not I'm freezing." Jackson replied/ mumbled, this was the first time Jackson had been sick since Ellis's wife had died and to say he was sacred was an understatement. " listen buddy I gotta go into work and you're coming with me. I'm going to get some fever reducer in you and then we'll go" Ellis explained to his still half asleep but burning up with fever son.
Once they got to Dragon industry Ellis immediately took Jackson to his office to lay down on the couch he had, " Ellis why is Jackson asleep on your couch? They need him in the lab." Anna asked walking in to Ellis putting a blanket over Jackson feeling his forehead once again, " he's sick Anna, like really sick. He hasn't been this since Katie died and I don't know what to do." He panicked looking down at his sickly son who had basically wrapped himself into a burrito. "Ellis it's going to be just peachy, do you know what his symptoms are? If so we can start from there, but you do have an important board meeting today." Anna reminded him. " well he didn't tell me much at home but I think I could wake him up now and get some answers from him but he wasn't that easy to wake up this morning though ." Ellis confirmed
Once he was done taking care of Jackson for the time being he headed towards the conference room where the board members were talking amongst themselves while they were waiting for Ellis to arrive so they could get started. About 30 minutes into the meeting starting a delirious Jackson walks in, stumbling over his own feet in a hurry to get over to his dad after waking up from a nightmare and seeing no one around. "Dad? Oh dad there you are! I woke up and no one was there and wow I don't feel good." Jackson rambled before proceeding to throw up on his dad's shoes, " hey, hey you're okay get it up and I'll get you back to my office to sleep while I wrap this up okay?" Ellis asked his delirious son. " when's mom coming back? I miss her" he mumbled sleepy the question making Ellis freeze not wanting to upset Jackson.
"Well on the bright side that didn't go as badly as I thought." Anna reassured a panicking Ellis who was sitting at his desk watching Jackson sleep rushing over if he heard the slightest whimper or cry his fever had been 103.0 when he had taken it after the whole conference room chaos " Anna my only kid is laying here sick and I don't know if you missed the part where he threw up on me while delirious. He also asked when his mom was coming back and I just froze." Ellis admitted " Ellis , I get his health is your main priority right now so take him home and take care of him. He knows you care and he has a lot of faith in you." Anna reassured him as he walked over to Jackson moving the small trash can he had put on the floor next to him, " Jackson buddy it's time to go home, sleep in a real bed okay? U ready to move?" Ellis asked softly helping Jackson sit up and hold him upright as a wave of dizziness hit him and made the nausea come back , " dad? I don't feel good 'm all dizzy and lightheaded, don't let me go kay?" Jackson pleaded his dad as he guided him out of the room.
As luck would have it they ran into Luna and Ruby ( who both like Jackson but it isn't a competition) who were both concerned about the deathly pale boy being held up by his dad , yes Jackson was shorter than Ellis but that didn't mean it was easy carrying his weight. By the time they got home Jackson was knocked out again and gave Ellis no choice but to carry him to his room and set up camp there, all the nightmares and vomiting and everything that came with being a dad Ellis was confident in him self to parent Jackson again.
A week later Jackson was cleared to go back to work and help on the next big project that the Dragon Industry was going to come up with next! ******************************************HIIIIIIIII. So I hope you all enjoyed that! Took me two days to write and I wont say I didn't struggle but I did and made it work!!!
