"No!" Klaus screamed, holding the girl in his arms. He held his wrist to her mouth, attempting to force blood in. "You cannot die on me. I'll do whatever you want. We won't force you to do anything. You can turn if you want. I don't care. Just please don't be dead."
He picked all of the glass from her, hoping that she would heal. She didn't. She laid there cold and motionless. Maria sat shaking as she looked at her best friend. She didn't know how to react. Her only thought was if she should tell them of her friend's idea. She couldn't risk getting their hopes up. She couldn't bear it.
She stared down at her best friend, begging for any signs of life. She didn't find any. Elijah seemed to be upset, despite the fact that he and Morgan weren't close. He had still enjoyed talking to her, and he knew she was a good person. Rebekah was a wreck. Morgan had come to be the closest thing to a sister that she had. Her heart ached as she sobbed. None hurt like Klaus. He was completely broken.
He hadn't allowed anyone in for a long time. When he met her, he knew that she needed him just as much as he needed her. She was the best thing to happen to him, and he had continually lost her. This time it was the end. He would never see her smile. He'd never hear her high pitched laugh. He wouldn't get the chance to tell her that he loved her.
"Why did she even have the stake to begin with? What was she planning?" Elijah questioned Maria. The girl gulped in fear. Would she be punished for her friend's death by helping her?
"She wanted to lure Mikael in," she answered shakily. Tears still ran down her face. "She wanted to take matters into her own hands."
"And you listened?" Rebekah asked angrily. "Mikael was one of the strongest vampires to ever roam the earth, and you let her take him on single handedly? Are you stupid?"
"She had a plan," she whimpered quietly.
"What plan?" Klaus asked in a whisper. Everyone seemed surprised that he was able to muster up the ability to finally talk. He tore his eyes away from his love to look at the girl. He stared expectantly, and Maria could tell he was getting more aggravated with her.
"She found Esther's grimoire," she began to explain. "Found an immortality spell. She had me do it on her, knowing that Mikael would kill her. She thought she would have the advantage since he wouldn't know she was alive, and she could finally live her life."
"So she will wake up?" He asked hopefully.
"I'm not sure. I didn't practice. I highly doubt that I had the power for a difficult spell like that. I can only pray that she does."
"I'm not leaving her side until then," Klaus announced, turning back to the blonde. "I'm never leaving her again no matter what."

My eyes slowly peeled open, and I grew confused. I was all alone in New York. It seemed to have this dark blue tinge to it. Then it clicked. This was the other side. I smiled, realizing that it had worked. I roamed the empty city, searching for Broadway. If I could just locate it, I could find my way back home. After what seemed like forever, I finally found my home. I swung the door open, revealing my friends grieving over my body. I cringed at the sight. Elijah and Rebakah were fast asleep on the couch. Maria was curled up on the floor, staring at my corpse. Then Klaus.
He sat on the floor, holding me in his arms. His fingers caressed my cheeks lightly. Tears brimmed in his eyes, and I felt my heart break at the sight. One of the floor boards squeaked, causing me to look away from the scene. My eyes widened at the sight in front of me. The blonde stood with her arms crossed over her chest. She watched me with a loving smile. I quickly ran to her, wrapping my arms around her. She happily retuned the hug.
"Mom!" I gasped. "How are you even here? You're not supernatural."
"I needed to see you," she answered. "I just want you to know that I'm so proud of you. I know that you're going to complete your transition, and that means we won't see each other again. But I wanted you to know that that's okay. You have people here who need you more than I do. I've found peace, and I want you to too. We never properly got to say goodbye, and I know it still hurts you."
"I don't wanna say goodbye. I can't lose you again. Please don't leave me."
"I can't stay, Morgan, and neither can you. It's time for us to both go back, but I love you so much. You won't remember this when you wake up. You just need to know that I support you one hundred percent. I love you."
"I love you," I repeated back. She motioned towards my body, reminding me that it was time to go back. I hugged her tightly one last time before letting her go. I watched as she slowly faded away. My heart dropped at the thought of never seeing her, but she wanted me to move on. I slowly approached my body. I knelt down beside Klaus and studied him as he closed his eyes tightly. I kissed his forehead, not feeling a thing.

"Klaus?" I asked in confusion as my eyes slowly fluttered open.
