Anticipation

"Are we almost there?" I asked for the millionth time. Damon threw his head back in annoyance.

"Why couldn't I have let you ride with the witch?" He frowned.

"Because you love me," I answered. "Now how much longer?" I tapped my fingers impatiently on the door.

"Well considering you last asked five minutes ago and I said an hour, I'm gonna say about fifty-five minutes," he groaned.

"Can you not drive any faster?" I whined. "I need to find out about the truth." Damon looked over at me like he wanted to kill me.

"You will find out when we get there. The more you ask, the slower I'm going to drive. Got it?" He threatened.

I let out a sigh as I nodded my head. I hadn't gotten much sleep last night. Every time I fell asleep, I had gotten some memory that had left me wide awake for a few hours. I slept maybe three hours last night. That's being generous. It was maybe a little over two. I was exhausted, but I couldn't fall asleep. Not when I was this close. Damon seemed to notice I was tired, so he used it to his advantage. He handed me a pair of sunglasses and his jacket.

I slipped the sunglasses on and used the blanket as a cover. "Go to sleep," Damon said softly. "Maybe you'll remember something good." I really didn't want to, but I eventually gave in and drifted off.

"Your father would have a cow if he found out! You know that right?" My mother said, gripping onto the counter for support. She wasn't taking the news too well.

"I know," I sighed. "That's why we aren't going to tell him." My mother went wide eyed. "He'll try to kill him!"

"Ugh you owe me one," she said as she cupped her face in her hands. "You're lucky that I like that boy. I'll cover it with your father."

"Thank you so much, mom!" I exclaimed as I hugged onto her. "He really makes me happy."

"I know, sweetheart," my mom grinned, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear. "You better hold onto him while you can."

"I will," I promised. "I can't ever let him go."

It was a short memory, but it still carried allot of meaning. My mom had known something bad. I'm guessing it was the fact that Klaus was a vampire. She had helped me hide it from my father. He would turn in his grave if he knew what I was trying to do right now. I opened my eyes and looked over at Damon who was smirking at me. I sat up in confusion and frowned when I saw we were at Bonnie's house.

"How long have we been here?" I asked him.

"Bout ten minutes," he chuckled.

"And you couldn't wake me up?" I huffed. I just wanted to hurry up and do this.

"Come on, you're glad I didn't," he smiled. "You had a nice family memory."

"Don't get in my head, Damon," I ordered him. "Please, stay out of it." He simply laughed as we got out of the car. Bonnie stood waiting for us on the porch. I excitedly ran up to her. Damon followed close behind me.

"Wait!" A voice yelled. I turned to see Klaus running towards us. Damon pushed us both inside, assuring that we could do the spell. Klaus wasn't invited in.

"Don't do it yet," Klaus ordered. "I want to be with you when you remember." I glanced at Bonnie and she just stared, awaiting my answer.

"We can do the spell outside?" I offered. Klaus nodded and Bonnie urged us to the back porch. She laid down some candles and I sat in the middle of them. Bonnie took the jar of Klaus's blood and poured it around me as I sat criss-crossed.
