It'd been a few weeks since everything went down and JJ had been on edge. Maddie and Chimney were better, but it didn't ease her stress.

She just had this constant fear that something was going to happen. Something bad.

What she wasn't expecting was a call from her Dad, saying he needed to be picked up from the police station.

But here she was, on the way to pick up her father, praying to god he hadn't done something stupid.

When she arrived, she found the 118, plus Athena, all stood in the parking lot, not looking happy.

"What happened?" JJ asked, running a hand through her hair. "I'll explain when we're home," Buck said goodbye to his friends before following his daughter to her jeep. "We need to pick up my truck." She nodded, jumping into the driver's seat.

"Put Taylor on, she cheers me up," Buck demanded, getting a chuckle out of JJ. "The day I say no to that is when you should be concerned."

The two picked up the truck, before driving home separately, Buck picking up pizza on his way.

After Buck explained the situation to his daughter, the girl began choking on her water. "Oh my..." She wheezed. "They think... you guys did it?" She coughed. "It's not that funny!" He protested, patting her back. "It really is."

After she calmed down, the two continued to eat in silence until she spoke up. "So..." She hummed. "So?" He rose a brow.

"I have a... I have a date on Friday." It was now his turn to choke on his drink. "Okay." He squeaked.

This was JJ's first real date. Her first date and Buck was panicking. His daughter was going on a date! That meant she wasn't the grumpy twelve-year-old he met nearly five years ago.

He was ecstatic for her, any good parent would be, but it also terrified him.

"Dad! I'm the one that's supposed to be panicking, not you!" She shook him out of it. "But if you're going on a date! That means you're like a young woman or whatever! I'm not ready for that!"

JJ smiled at his words, letting out a chuckle. "Calm down. I'm not going anywhere for a whileeeee." She told him. "Now! I'm really stressing about an outfit so I need your help." She stood up.

"Isn't Sophia supposed to the one to help with this?" He asked. "Her parents are... well her parents. So she's stuck at home." Buck nodded, a frown taking over his face. "They suck. Now come on, show me these outfits, baby."

After the Buckley's had eaten breakfast, the door knocked. "Sophia's here to pick you up, you're going over there for the night," Buck informed her, making her pull a face. "Did you arrange a sleepover?" He chuckled.

"No, but the cops are here to search the house, and I don't want you here while they do that." She nodded, kissing him on the cheek before going outside to her friend.

"I have so much shit to tell you," Sophia told her once they got into the car. "I'm listening."

"Okay so, my Dad brought another whore to the house and Mom blew up! She was screaming, saying she wanted a divorce but he wasn't having it." JJ gasped. "It was fucking crazy, Jayj."

"Are you okay?" The blonde asked. "Of course." Sophia laughed. "Okay..."

Sophia turned the volume of the music up and began loudly singing the lyrics, JJ soon joined in, both girls forgetting about their worries just for a short moment.

JJ wouldn't trade her friendship, no, sisterhood, with Sophia for anything. Sophia was the sun. She came into JJ's dark life and brightened it up with her energetic and loving personality.

They had been each other's home for so long, and that would never change.

"I love you, Soph." JJ turned to her, sipping on her milkshake. "I love you too, Jayj."

"She's going on a first date!" Buck ran a hand through his hair. "Okay.. take a breath." Eddie held in his laugh, guiding Buck to sit down.

Shannon had taken Chris for the night, as Eddie didn't want him around while the police searched their home.

"A first date is a big deal!" Buck exasperated.

He was scared. JJ was growing up, and that was a big deal. Yes, when they met she was already quite grown, but she'd done a lot of mentally growing over the years that they'd known each other.

She only went to therapy once every two weeks, and she was needing her sleep medication less and less.

Buck didn't want all of that being ruined because of some stupid boy.

"Okay. What do we know about this kid?" Eddie asked. "Well, apparently he's "sweet and really funny" but Soph, May and Kiara don't like him." Eddie rose a brow at his statement. "If Sophia doesn't like him then why is JJ going?"

"Because my daughter likes to make opinions of people herself. She doesn't like listening to what everyone else has to say. She wants to judge him herself." He sighed. "Why does she have to be so nice," Buck whined.

"Because she's your kid." Buck smiled at his words before taking a sip of his beer.

"I'm sure the date will be fine, and if not then we'll take her out," Eddie suggested. "Yeah."

Little did anyone know what was coming.
