I run to my room, I find a little black dress I haven't wore since high school and try it on. To my surprise it still fit, I throw on some heels and head to my car. I arrive and valet takes my car, walking up I'm stopped by the body guard. " I need to see you're invitation ma'am"
I scoff. "I'm with Theodore Armani"
He quickly moves out of my way and hands me a mask. "I'm sorry ma'am" he hangs his head a little.
I'm confused as to why I need a mask, I thought that was just for the Masquerade ball they had. I slip on the cheap piece of fabric and walk through the dark, foggy room. The ambiance is different this time, something more dreadful.
I look around and see only the women wearing the masks, staring for too long a big man with a scar above his eye approaches me. "You look like fun" his raspy voice reeked of cigarettes.
I lightly smile "If you excuse me" I turn to walk away, but his calloused hand stops me.
"Where ya going babe, can't ya see I'm tryna talk to ya." He pulls me close to him.
I try to pull out of his grasp but its useless. "Let me go!"
He snickers "Mhmm, I love it when they fight."
He grabs my cheeks pulling my face towards his, he kisses me forcefully. Still trying to force my way out of his grasp, he hits me causing my mask to fall. He was about to hit me again when I hear a familiar voice.
"Alright Vinny, that's enough"
I couldn't see behind the man, until he was pushed aside and I come face to face with Theo. All I can do is look at him and plead for help. Theo's face contorts, and pulls out a gun pointing it to the man.
"Vinny your fucking dead! If you touch her one more time, I'll put a bullet in your fuckin head, do you understand me motherfucker?"
Theo is holding this man to the floor by gun point, the guilt sets in. I should have never came here, as the commotion continues, I run to my car. I don't get far before someone grabs me, flinching in fear I'm pulled into someone's chest. I relax when I realize it's Theo, he takes my hand pulling me in the opposite direction of my car. I begin to panic but he hushes me.
"Aspen I am taking you to my place alright, you will be safe there." He caresses my face.
Theo opens the car door, " What the hell were you thinking? You could have been killed!" Irritation visible in his voice.
I remain silent, already realizing it was a stupid decision it was to go there. I don't need his two cents. It is silent for the rest of the ride to his place. Theo runs to my side and helps me out, I start to feel light headed. I stop to take a break, Theo notices and picks me up. " I can walk just give me a second." I say a little annoyed.
"No, I will carry you. I think you've done enough tonight Aspen." His words cold as ice.
I hate feeling like a child who has disappointed their parents, the feeling literally makes you sick. We reach his bedroom and he lays me down softly, tucking me in his silky sheets. Theo climbs into bed next to me and pulls me to his chest, "Aspen, what you did was reckless and not to mention very dangerous but we will talk in the morning you need to get some rest."
I don't say anything, I don't want to get myself in more trouble. I nod my head, breathing in his scent. Theo rubbed his thumb across my head, the touch was soothing. The exhaustion catching up to me, I quickly fall asleep.
