Chapter 24

Courtney's POV
I held a sleepy Henry as I sat by Louis. It was quiet for a moment. I glanced at Louis and saw he was watching Harry and Luca.
"Harry's pretty good with him huh?" Louis said.
"Yeah, Harry is still pretty bad at soccer though." I said glancing at my brother who was kicking a soccer ball with Luca.
"Yeah he is." Louis laughed.
"Are you sure you're all okay with this?" I asked.
"If you mean Luca being mine, yes I am. I've told you this."
"I know I just. I worry about them you know. I don't want Luca to get attached and then you bail Louis." I said
"You know I'm not like that. I wouldn't do that. I plan to stick around for Luca. Does Liam know?"
I bit my lip.
"Mommy?" I looked down at Henry.
"Yes sweetie?"
"Play?"
"Yeah, go play with Uncle Harry and Luca." I said and watched Henry join his brother and Uncle Harry.
"Does Liam know?" Louis asked again. I turned to face him.
"No. I was going to tell him, but the night that I was going to I ended up in the hospital." I said.
"Harry told me that you had the twins."
"Yeah. Did he tell you anything else?"
"No, is there something else?"
"I'm thinking about divorcing Liam." I said biting my lip.
"Wow. That is big. Well it's not my place to know why unless you want me to."
"You should know since Luca is yours." I said taking a deep breath.
"Well what is it?"
"I've been avoiding Liam ever since I gave birth to the twins. He-he hit me, a lot. I know he was probably stressed, but he beat me badly one night to the point that I went into early labor. I get he was drunk and that's no excuse, but I'm still confused on what to do. I thought I could help him, but I guess I didn't try hard enough." I said as tears started.
I then felt Louis hug me.
"It's not your fault. You deserve better." Louis said.
"I know, but am I bad person for wanting my kids to have a father?" I asked.
"No, but you also need to think about what is best for you and your children. If Liam can't see the damage he is doing and doesn't get help then he doesn't deserve you." Louis said.
"Thanks." I said and wiped my tears.
"No problem, now shall we show your brother how soccer should really be played." Louis said and I laughed. He then helped me up. We then walked over to Harry and the boys and began our own game of soccer. Little did I know that Liam was watching us.
