Well it's been done. I worked out the divorce papers with a lawyer and they were finalized today. I just had to have them sent out. The thing was though, I hadn't have the courage to do it. Was I making the right call? Maybe Liam could get help and we could fix us? Maybe do ice was too bold of a move. Was this really the best move for my children?
I dialed a number and after three rings the other person picked up.
"Hello?"
"Mom?"
"Sweetie? It's late. Is everything okay?"
"I can't sleep and I also need some advice. I can call in the morning if you want. I'm sorry if I woke you."
"No, you didn't wake me. I haven't gone to sleep yet. I was just going to make some tea before I went to bed. What's the matter?"
"I got the divorce papers finalized today."
"That's good isn't it?"
"I guess. Am I doing the right thing?"
"Honey you have to do what's best for you and the kids. If Liam wants to fight this, we will cross that battle when we get to it, but for right now try and get some rest. Sleep on it and see how you feel in the morning."
"Okay. Night mom."
"Night. Don't worry. I know you'll do what's best for you and the kids." She then hung up and I sighed and got up and headed upstairs. Before I went to my room I checked on the kids. Luckily, they were all sleeping, although Henry seemed to be tossing and turning. Walking into his room, I picked him up from his bed.
"Mommy?"
"Hey sweetie."
"Bad dream." He sniffled.
"I'm sorry baby. Want to sleep with mommy? I could use a cuddle buddy." I said.
"Yeah." Henry said and snuggled into my shoulder. Once in my room I laid him down on the bed, finished getting ready for bed and got under the covers with him and held him close. I couldn't lose him or my other kids to Liam. I would fight if I have to when the time comes. I then closed my eyes and and drifted to sleep.
