I watched Courtney, her back stiff as I entered the room, my gaze fixed on her. She was standing near the living room, cradling Laurel and Jaxson in her arms, while Luca and Henry were on the floor, playing together. For a moment, it almost felt like everything was normal—like we hadn't reached this point. But I couldn't let that feeling linger.

Her eyes widened when she saw me. "Liam... what are you doing here?" she asked, her voice shaky, like she already knew what was coming.

"Come with me," I said, my tone firm. "All of you."

She stepped back instinctively, clutching the twins tighter against her chest. "Liam, no. You can't do this. They're my children."

I ignored her, stepping further into the room, my gaze flicking to the kids. Luca and Henry looked up at me, their expressions confused at first. Then they saw the look on their mother's face, and it changed to fear.

Henry, still only two, started to cry, sensing the tension in the room. His small arms reached out for Courtney, but I was faster. Before she could react, I scooped him up, his little body stiff with terror.

"Liam, please," Courtney begged, her voice cracking. "You can't do this. I won't go with you."

But I didn't care. I wasn't leaving without her, without the kids. "I'm taking them. All of them," I said, my grip tightening on Henry. His cries were loud, a sound that seemed to tear through my resolve, but I shook it off. This was what needed to happen.

Luca, more aware of what was happening, moved quickly toward Courtney. "Let go of him!" he shouted, trying to get to Henry. He tried to push me away, his small hands pressing against my arm with all his might, but it was no use. He was too small, too scared.

"Stop it, Luca!" Courtney cried, her voice desperate. She reached for her son, but I didn't give her the chance. I reached down and grabbed Luca by the arm, pulling him towards me. He squirmed violently, struggling to break free, his little face red with anger and fear.

"Let him go, Liam!" Courtney screamed. "You're hurting him!"

But I ignored her. I wasn't stopping until they were all with me.

I moved quickly toward the door, Luca squirming in my grasp, Henry still sobbing in my arms, and Courtney hesitating behind me, frozen by her fear and disbelief. But I wasn't giving her the choice.

"Come on, Courtney," I said, my voice cold. "I'm not leaving without you."

She hesitated for a long moment, and I saw the panic in her eyes, the desperation. But then, reluctantly, she took a few steps toward me, the twins still in her arms. She didn't want to come with me. I could see it in her eyes, but there was no escape now. I knew she'd wouldn't let me leave with the kids on my own.

I opened the door to the car, shoving Luca into the backseat, still holding Henry tightly against me. Courtney finally moved, slowly, her body trembling. She climbed into the car with the twins in her arms, still staring at me, but I could tell she was crushed by what was happening. Her tears, though silent, were visible on her face.

"Please, Liam... don't do this," she whispered, as I closed the car door behind her.

I didn't say anything in return. I climbed into the driver's seat, ignoring the desperate pleas still echoing from behind me. Henry was still crying, his body shaking in fear, while Luca was silently seething, glaring at me from the backseat. The twins, too young to understand, were still nestled in their mother's arms, blissfully unaware of the tension in the car.

Courtney was silent now, her gaze fixed on the road ahead, her body pressed against the door like she was trying to get as far away from me as possible. But there was nowhere to run.

I started the engine, driving down the street, the sounds of Luca's angry protests and Henry's fearful sobs filling the car.

"We don't want to go with you, Liam!" Luca shouted. "Let us go! Mommy, please! Tell him!"

But Courtney was too quiet, her voice drowned by the fear that seemed to paralyze her. She didn't know what to say, or how to fix this.

I turned the car down a side street, away from the house, ignoring the protests of the children. I didn't care.

This was happening. And nobody was going to stop me.
