Reginas POV

Ok so let's clear a few things up. I didn't fake my own death! I was actually planning on killing myself. Until something stopped me. How was I gonna do it? Overdose, my mom had a bunch of random medication and anti-depressants. The divorce really took a toll on her.

I swear I really was gonna do it, but I had to say a proper goodbye right? So I wrote my mom a letter and Y/n. I took the pills and planned to do it somewhere far away, so they couldn't find me until weeks later.

I was planning on just basically chugging the whole bottle in one go with a bunch of water. Then a voice stopped me. "What are you doing out here alone?" The, I presume elderly woman called out.

"Uhm, what?" I asked out, the woman showed herself and she looked at me suspiciously. "What you doin with all those pills baby?"

I could utter a word as she moved closer to me. "You gonna overdose if you take to much!" The older lady told me. I let out an awkward laugh, an almost nervous one. "That's the point."

She narrowed her eyes at me, before turning around. "Come." Was all she said, motioning with her hand to follow her. I know I shouldn't be blindly trusting strangers but in that moment, I did.

She led me to a beautiful cottage, surrounded by huge pine trees, in a part of town I didn't even know existed. We went inside the cottage which was believed to be her house.

"Sit." She said, patting the part of the couch where she wanted me to sit. I did as told while she went to the kitchen and started making tea.

"Why do you wanna kill yourself." She asked over the loud noises of the kettle. "I can't stand life anymore." I told her.

This made her laugh. "Honey, I've been through 81 years of life and trust me, there were moments where I couldn't stand life!" I nodded at her words as she continued. "But that's what life's about! The ups and downs! There had to be something good in your life, something worth living for!" She told me.

I thought about Y/n and instantly smiled. She grinned at me, "See! Now if you don't wanna live for any other reason...live for that."

I started to tear up, a bit. I no longer wanted to die, but then again, I couldn't go back, not yet at least. "I can't go back there Ms..." I trailed off, not knowing the women's name.

"Ms. Morgan is fine dear." She said, taking the kettle off the stove. "Ms. Morgan I can't go back there, the people, the town, it's just, all too much."

"You can stay here as long as you want baby."

And so I did, I stayed there for the rest of the year and all of summer. It was great, but then I realized. People think I'm dead! "Ms. Morgan," I said one morning over breakfast. "I think I'm ready to go back." She smiled and nodded. "Then you go back baby! I'll be here if you ever need me."

I hugged the kind woman goodbye, and I set off. I set off to find Y/n. I set off to make things right.

Which brings us to present time

"Hi Y/n."

"Regina?"

I nodded and smiled at her. The girls eyes widened as she hugged me tightly. "I thought you were dead!" She screamed. I laughed. "I thought I was gonna be dead too!"

The girl pulled away from the hug and looked at me confused. So I told her the whole story on how I accidentally faked my own death.

~~~
There was a lot of paperwork when you fake your own death. But I got through it eventually. I was finally allowed to be a normal teenager again. I was allowed to be happy again.
Y/n and I sat at the bleachers, just like a year ago. "I'm guessing you moved on, found someone else?" I asked her. Y/n let out an obnoxiously loud laugh.
"Of course not." She exclaimed, I looked at her and smiled. "I could never move on from the Regina George." Her statement made me laugh.
It was silent for a moment, before she looked at me, and kissed me.
