Sinking In

Everyone stared at Tory.

Cobra Kai stared back.

They arrived at the Sekai Tekai early to hear the rules and prepare for the tournament that was in a week. All the teams were supposed to show up early otherwise they would be disqualified. After hearing all that they needed to, the Miyagi Do's got in a van to get back to there hotel.

It was the most silent ride any of them had ever experienced. All of them felt different.

Robby has sitting in an egg shape, holding his knees, staring out the window, trying not to cry in front of the others. But the occasional tear would be spotted by the others. The worst part about it was he wanted to be with Tory. Not necessarily Cobra Kai, but with her. Even if that meant Cobra Kai.

Sam felt  like she popped a balloon. Her and Tory were just getting along but now she left. Sam didn't know how do feel.

Devon was sympathetic. She knew what Tory was going through and wanted to be there for her but knew she didn't want it.

Demetri and Eli didn't know her well enough to make much sense out of it. They were fighting each other and didn't have the time to care.

Miguel knew she was upset but didn't want to do anything about it. He was more worried about Stanford.

Once Johnny parked the van they sat there. Outside the hotel.

Finally Johnny broke the silence.

" I told you Daniel. You just had to have it your way." He said his voice low and quiet.

" Sensei." Miguel said and gave him a warning look but Johnny didn't care.

Johnny turned and faced Daniel. " Why did you do that!" His voice was louder but not shouting yet.

" I told you, her mother just died! She can't fight. " Daniel replied. He sounded sincere and angry but Johnny wasn't buying his bullshit.

He also didn't want to fight in front of the kids, so he sighed and left the van. The others started piling out and made it to their hotel rooms.

The pairings for hotel rooms was Hawk and Demetri, Devon and Sam, and Robby and Miguel. Once Robby and Miguel made it to there room, Miguel closed the door and asked him,

" You ok?" Robby had sat on his bed and was sinking into the mattress.

" Honestly, I don't know." He said. Miguel made it to his bed and looked at Robby. He looked broken. Miguel knew how much Tory meant to him.

"Try contacting her. I don't think she broke up with you Robby. Just give her a chance. She..." Miguel was lost for words. She was what? A traitor? A lost girl?

Robby decided to try. He grabbed his phone and dialed her number that he had come to memorize.

RING.....

......RING

......RING

BEEP! Your call has been forwarded to voicemail. At the tone please record your message.

" Hey Tor. Its Robby. Just wanted to know how your feeling. Uh..." Robby didn't know what to say. She would probably just delete it when she got it, so he added, " Good luck at the tournament. Uh, I hope you do well so yeah, I uh....Bye."

The voicemail was sent and then Robby fell onto his head. He turned his back on Miguel and Miguel could hear sniffles. After a while Miguel shut off the lights and went to bed himself. He could hear a screen tapping and turned to see a light from Robby. He was on his phone.

When Robby thought Miguel was asleep Robby got up and headed to the bathroom to and closed the door.

He called Tory again and again and again until she finally picked up.

------------------------------------------

Tory got to her hotel where her and the rest of the Cobra's were staying. She immediately went to her bed. She turned on the TV as a distraction but was drowned in her own thoughts. She got pulled out of it when her phone started ringing. She looked at the phone only to see who she was dreading.

Robby Keene.

She sighed and let it go to voicemail. The minute she got it she listened to it. She kept replaying it over and over until she started to fall asleep.

It wasn't until later she got another call. She didn't respond. After the 23rd time her phone started buzzing, she finally picked up.

" What the fuck do you want Keene?" she said, clearly upset.

It was silent.

" Keene?"

"Robby?"

"ROBBY!?" She asked concerned.

" Hi Tory. " He replied. She sighed in relief.  She thought something bad had happened. But then she realized this conversation was happening after they saw her betrayal and knew it couldn't be good.

" Hi." She replied. " What do you want?" She asked.

The line got silent from both of them. It was awkward.

" Can we meet somewhere? To talk?" Robby asked. Tory heard someone coming.

" Uh, sure, send me the place. BYE!" She said. and hung up.

And sure enough outside her door was her old sensei. Sensei Kim.
