In Her Head

The rest of the day Robby had tried to get her attention. But she somehow acted like that didn't happen. How  could she? But he knew it was bothering her. She was doing well in the competitions, but not her best. She could do better. He knew that look. She wasn't trying her hardest. She was distracted.

Which meant she cared. She did acknowledge the little moment they shared. He was in her head.

---------------------------------------------------

Tory didn't understand. Why did he do that? He was supposed to hate her. He was supposed to despise her. And yet he had comforted her. Maybe he really did care. She looked over at him. He was talking to Johnny. She looked at Devon. She seemed to be struggling with something too.

Tory felt bad. She knew the competition that was out there. Today was team building and crap like that. Tomorrow? The real tournament would begin. After getting ranked today there was no way Miyagi-Do could stand that.

Devon. She thought. She was going to get hurt.

Robby, Miguel, and Sam could hold up.

But Devon, Eli, and Demetri? The first round would kill them. She looked away. Why was she thinking about them? She chose to switch size.

But only after they chose Sam. She thought bitterly. Devon was ok. But the rest of them. Well, ok, Robby wasn't bad. But she wasn't trying to think about him.

Shit. She thought. Now she's thinking about him again.

She made it. Their team didn't get disqualified. But she definitely could've done better. The look on Sensei Kim's face told her she wasn't impressed.

" Thank you to all the teams. Those who aren't disqualified are told to be here 8 o'clock sharp." The loudspeaker shouted. Miyagi Do left immediately, and went back to their hotel. None of them speaking. Robby wasn't getting Deja Vu, remembering the first time they came back from that place.

He just couldn't get her out of his head. He had to see her. But how? He had no clue.

----------------------------------------------------

Tory told herself to breathe. Kim had wanted to talk to her after the first part of the tournament. Cobra Kai had obviously made it to the first round of fighting tomorrow. So had Miyagi Do, but they would beat them

" Nichols, you weren't doing your best. I know how you fight and I've seen better." She said, scolding.

" I.. I'll do better sensei." Tory said looking down.

" Nichols. You must do better. The Sekai Tekai isn't anything you have ever experienced before and if you don't do your best you will be disqualified. Even if you are a captain." Tory nodded.

" The All Valley is child's play compared to this. Get your head in the game. We can't have you lose." Tory wasn't responding. Kim was getting mad.

" What is it? Is it the boy again? Or is it your dead mother?" She asked. Tory looked up. No way she said that. No way she would cry in front of Kim.

" Sensei Kim, Kwon needs you." Kreese said. He had heard the last part. And knowing what it was like when a mom wasn't there, he stepped in before Tory did something she shouldn't have. Kim left, but gave Tory a look before doing so, and Kreese turned to Tory. Tory took a deep breath.

Breathe. She thought.

" Tory, what's going on? She was right. I've seen better from you." Kreese said, taking a seat.
