Can't Have Both

Anger in memories

" Where are you bitch?" Her father had been calling her. Tory had been 8 years old at the time. 

" Daddy?" She asked terrified knowing it couldn't be good. 

Her dad was holding a beer in his hand. He swung his hand recklessly, hitting a lamp. As it was falling to the ground, Tory's mom ran in front of her, protecting her as the lamp hit her. She screamed and fell to the floor. 

Tory had been forced to watch her parents fight and her father leave. She had been forced to help out with the house as her baby brother was coming into the house. This was the first time she realized how cruel the world was.

Her landlord was asking her for rent, but she was late that month. He threatened her, and told her things she shouldn't know. It made her terrified. She had lost her innocence. She was only 13 and couldn't handle it. Her landlord kept coming after her even after. She finally learned how to fight and defend herself against him. 

This was the 2nd time she realized how cruel the world was.

Tory saw Miguel kiss Sam. Her boyfriend has cheated on her with his ex. She left the party and made her way home. Of course she had to help out her mother and couldn't take her anger out on her. With her brother there she put them to bed, and then made her way to her room. She tore it apart. 

She couldn't do anything about it and the next day started the school fight. 

This was the 3rd time she realized how cruel the world was.

Sensei Silver was holding her back. He and Sensei Kim wouldn't let her leave the dojo. She had been forced to break the stone all because she had shown weakness to Robby. She had tried, but it didn't help her. Sensei Kim kept agitating her and finally she broke the stone and her hand. 

This was the 4th time she realized how cruel the world was.

Her mother died. The doctors didn't catch it. Because of them she lost her. She didn't get a spot for captain all because they didn't want her to. Miyagi Do would never accept her. All because Larusso had to be put first. After all, her father was the Sensei. And she was the pet.

This was the last realization she had of the world being cruel before she decided to stop playing along. She wouldn't have it. She was going to get her way by doing her own thing. She couldn't anymore. The world was never on her side.

Using all this anger, her and Kwon got Sensei Kim. She used all her anger and skill. She had all this anger stored up from all these years of her life being unfair. Kwon swung at Kim but she caught it. 

Tory held her back and Kwon got out of her grip. Tory kicked but Kim blocked it easily. She went to sweep her leg but Kim tripped her and threw Kwon over her back. 

He went to grab her and Tory went to hit her. Using all her anger into getting revenge on Kim, she landed the point. But she didn't stop. She tried her best to hit her more, get her back. Luckily Sensei Kim was more trained and stopped her.

" Looks like the student is ready for the tournament. Good job Nichols." Sensei Kim said. 

Tory smirked. No way was Miyagi Do getting her now. She was unstoppable. No more mercy for this girl. She would make sure they would suffer, just as she had been. 

But there was still one problem she had been ignoring and she vowed to continue doing. Robby Keene.

" Kreese. We need to talk about Nichols." Kim said. 

" Yes?" Kreese asked, while lighting his cigar.

" You seemed to get her back in line just like Kwon. I must applaud you for those two. Something Silver certainly couldn't do."

Kreese didn't respond. Silver was a touchy subject.

" But she's all over that boy. He made her betray the dojo then, so he could probably do it now. We need to be sure-" 

" Sensei Kim. " He interrupted. " I will take care of Mr. Keene. In the meantime, keep training her. Don't go soft. She is doing well. If she continues down this path your grandfather's legacy will be shared worldwide." He said. She nodded. 

" Now if you'll excuse me. I have a lovesick boy to talk to."

Johnny and Daniel hadn't been on good terms since they found out Tory joined Cobra Kai. 

"What are you going to do Larusso? Convince her to rejoin? Tell her to do Kata while her mother's funeral is right around the corner? Cobra Kai welcomed her with open arms while you pushed her away. No way she comes back dumbass."

" Johnny, if I could just talk to her-" 

" No way she'd talk to you." He said. Daniel didn't say anything. " Do you even want her back? Or are you happy because your daughter will be top again. Because your daughter knows the way of Miyagi Do better than a Cobra."

" DON'T Johnny. You don't even know what your saying."

" Really?" Johnny asked. " Well, let me think. I'm poor. Your rich. I'm dumb. Your smart. I'm wrong. Your right. This is what this is, right?" Johnny asked. 

" Johnny-" 

" NO. I don't want to hear your bullshit. I'm going to find her and talk to her myself, so if you don't mind, I'll  be off."

Johnny slammed the door on his way out and Daniel sighed.

But on his way out Johnny ran into one of the people he really didn't want to see.
