Love at Last Sight (18+)

Chapter - 6

Sanjana's POV:

After buying fruits and meeting up with my girls, I returned to our dorm and called my parents.

"Hello Mama, am alright. I just had my first day of classes. Yes, I bought fruits as well and yes I have unpacked everything", I replied patiently to all the questions my mom was asking about.

"Okay mama, love you", I told her and cut the call after an hour. We soon had our dinner and were done with the day.

The next day, I was rummaging through my closet and found my outfit for the day.

We booked a cab to the nearest cafe as Piggy wanted to eat pancakes for breakfast and our dorm does not serve that.

We had our breakfast and coffee and headed towards college.

As I entered the classroom, I saw that it was mostly empty. I looked at the notice board and came to know that we are having our class in an auditorium. As I entered the room, it was mostly packed and soon I saw Tara and Sam waving at me. I smiled and went towards them.

"What are you guys doing here?", I asked my friends as I was confused about the seating arrangement.

"We have the same math professor this year. So instead of teaching the same subject in 2 different classes, they planned it this way. This will be beneficial in saving time for the professor and also students get to make new friends", explained Sam.

"That's great, I get to spend more time with you guys in the class as well", I smiled relieved that I at least have one class with them.

As I was talking with my friends, I saw a very handsome guy, approximately more than 6 feet tall enter the classroom. Most of the girls stopped talking and stared at him while he was walking into the class. He went all the way to the back of the room and sat beside 3 other guys. I noticed one of them was Pranay. I quickly averted my gaze as it would be rude to stare and make the person feel uncomfortable.

The professor entered the auditorium and started introducing himself. He soon turned towards the board and started teaching the subject and we were taking down the notes. The time went on and we were done with our class.

We soon started moving to our respective classrooms and settled down. As the time passed it was already time for lunch. We were in the cafeteria, got a table, and ordered.

My gaze went towards the door and I saw the same handsome guy entering
the cafeteria.

He sat just a few tables away from us. "The guy that you are looking at, is from our class. He is just not interested in the classes. He always draws something in his notebooks or has airpods hidden under his hood", muttered Tara.

"Tara, we should not judge a book by its cover. Maybe he was having a bad day", I said defending him.

"Oh please Sanju, he is just so lazy and he is very arrogant. He thinks he is the 'It' guy. I don't even know what our class girls see in him. He just ignores girls and looks at them as irritating insects", completed Sam.

I did not know what did the guy do to offend my friends as they were always sweet and kind towards everyone.

I just nodded at them and continued eating. Once the lunch was done, classes continued and I came to know that we had a free last period.

I texted my friends that I would be at the dorm due to the free period and started heading in the direction of the dorm.

"Hello, blue dress come here", said a voice from behind. I looked in that direction and I immediately knew that they were my seniors. Seniors and juniors have a different color I'd card tag at the tip.

I did not know if I should listen to them or not. After my inner battle, I started walking towards them at a very slow pace.

As I reached them one of the guys looked at me from head to toe making me very uncomfortable. "So you are a freshman right?", asked a senior guy who was wearing a green shirt. I simply nodded my head. "Which course are you taking?", asked the same green shirt guy. "ECE sir", I replied softly making sure not to be rude.

"Oh, so you are our junior. Am also from ECE. My name is Ankit. As you are our junior, come on let's start with your bio data", asked  Ankit.

I told him about myself making sure to add Sir after each sentence. "So, do you have a boyfriend?", started Ankit. "No sir, I do not", I replied feeling tensed.

"Good to know. Did you talk to any of the guys from your class?", asked the same Ankit guy.

"Ah yes, I am friends with Pranay, he is from our class sir", I replied politely.

"Umm, okay. Now give me your number so that we can stay in touch and also you have to pick up my calls and you should not ignore me. If you ignore my calls I will see what I can do to you myself", warned Ankit.

I was about to deny him but at the same time, the principal was on rounds along with the Chairman of our university.

"Ankit sent her away, if they see her with us they will suspect that we are ragging her and we all will end up having a suspension eventually", said one of his friends.

"Hey you Sanjana, remember this interaction. I will find you soon. You may leave now", Ankit informed me.

I took a deep breath releasing all the pent-up tension and started heading towards the dorm by making my pace quick enough not to be noticed by any other seniors.

After some time my friends joined me in the dorm. I narrated the whole incident and by the end of it Piggy and Tara were fuming in anger and Sam was just worrying about the situation.

"That bastard, how dare he command you, and how dare he order you to pick up his calls? Why would he even want your number in the first place? You know what don't answer that question, I know he would fall for such a beautiful and innocent girl like you. But he has no right to threaten you that way", roared Piggy in anger.

"Piggy calm down. We are also furious about the situation but we have to calm ourselves down before we do something in haste", said Sam looking and Piggy making her calm down.

"Sanjana, you did not give your number, right? Remember, you should not give your number to anyone these days. There are a lot of crimes going on against young girls our age. We can't just give our number to anyone. What if he takes and distributes your number? There will be a lot of rumors and they will spread like wildfire", Tara asked me with a worried expression.

"Everyone please calm down. I did not give my number to anyone. I was scared about the situation. When I was about to deny him, our principal was on college rounds, so they told me to leave", I informed them making them calm down.

"Good Sanjana, just don't give your number to anyone and if someone asks your number just tell them that you do not have a mobile phone as your parents are overprotective of you and tell them that they would directly call the Warden to talk with you", said Tara giving me a brilliant idea.

"Yes, I will do that. Thanks, Tara for such a great idea", I thanked Tara.

Soon we had our dinner and I changed into my PJ set retiring to sleep.
