Chapter-1

Author's POV

"Sanju beta, please wake up, you are getting late for breakfast and also you are going to your college today", said Sanjana's mother trying to wake up her one and only daughter.

Sanjana has always been a responsible kid and she would wake up early in the morning, freshen up, and would come down for breakfast without anyone trying to wake her up. She has always been this way since her childhood. Very responsible and kind to everyone around her.

She is the only daughter with no siblings but she was never a spoiled brat, always understanding and very naive. Today she did not wake up early considering the fair amount of time she spent with her family before leaving for college last night.

Her family was worried about her and were trying to teach her the ways around the world as she had not even been to another city without them. They know that she is very innocent and naive and people would not even think twice about using her for their benefit and they are worried about how she would survive in a new city where she is going to for studying.

"Yes mama, I woke up," said Sanjana as she woke up and immediately rushed to her bathroom. After getting ready in a simple suit, she looked at herself in the mirror.

The girl staring back has wide brown eyes with a hint of hazel which she inherited from her father, silky black/brown combination hair, and a very fair complexion which when applied a little pressure would turn red immediately.

She went downstairs to meet her family and was greeted with a very positive environment and the smiling faces of her family.

"Sanju, did you pack everything? Do you need anything beta? What about snacks? Do you want any pickles? Do you want an umbrella? What if it rains?", asked her father with a worried look.

"Offoo Papa, don't be so worried, I don't need anything. All the things that were being packed were double-checked by both Grandma and Mama. And why do I need an umbrella when I am taking a flight?" asked Sanjana looking at her father.

"Yeah right, I am just worried about you, you haven't been to any other place without us and now you are going to a whole new city that to Delhi. So I will be worried beta" said her father with worry.

"Harsh, stop making my doll more nervous, she has her friends going along with her as well. So why do you worry? They will take care of each other. Right doll?", asked her grandmother looking at Sanjana with love in her eyes.

"Yes dadi, I have my friends Tara, Piggy, and Sam coming along with me, so please don't worry papa", said Sanjana looking at her father with worried eyes.

Sanjana, Tara, Harika (piggy), and Sameera (Sam) have been best friends since kindergarten. They have been in the same school from kindergarten to 12th and have developed an amazing bond of friendship with each other. Their parents have also become friends with each other over time. They all live only one or two blocks away from each other in the same neighborhood. Hence, their parents used to communicate a lot with each other while taking turns to pick up their children from school based on their availability. Eventually, their bond became stronger and inseparable. They used to arrange family gatherings, parties, and pooja together.

All the parents were happy that their daughters got accepted into a very good and reputed university. But they were also worried that they were going to live in a dorm where they had to take care of themselves.

Tara, piggy, and Sam's parents always used to follow the decisions taken by Sanjana's family considering Sanjana's grandmother was a retired university principal and would always guide them on the right path. She used to take care of the girl's studies all by herself even though with her hectic schedule. Bharathi Saxena has always been the girl's first teacher and is still a teacher to them whenever they come to her with doubts. The girl's parents also knew that Sanjana's family would always make the best decision for their one and only daughter. Hence, they always trust Tara, piggy, and Sam with them whenever they go out with Sanjana or used to stay for sleepovers.

"Breakfast is ready", announced Sanjana's mother Anita. Everyone gathered around the table and started having breakfast with small talk and a lot of worrying from Sanjana's grandfather and her father Harsh.

"Sanjana, please keep all the documents with you and you have your flight ticket right?" asked her father nth time. Anita got irritated and asked him to stop nagging her daughter.

All the girl's parents have already visited the University before the start of their college along with their daughters to complete all the formalities necessary for admission into college and hostel. They have all the girls allocated in the same dorm room to avoid any inconvenience to them as they know that the girls are inseparable.

"Hello, Saxena family," greeted a chirpy voice which is from Tara, and soon followed Piggy and Sam along with their luggage bags.

"You girls have already brought the luggage along with you?" asked Harsh looking at the wall clock. "It's only 9:00 am and the flight is around 3:00 pm. Why are you girls early?" asked Harsh.

"Uncle, we know the timings but before going we just want to spend more time in our second home and with our lovely Dadi", answered Piggy with a smile on her face.

"Okay, girls as you wish. Have some breakfast and in the meantime, I will leave to office and complete a few tasks, I will be back by noon. By then, have lunch and be ready with everything. I will drop you girls at the airport", said Harsh leaving to office in a hurry to complete all the pending tasks.

"Sanju, did you pack everything?" questioned Sam looking at Sanjana who just finished her breakfast.

"Yes Sam, everything is done. I am just worried that Piggy has packed her entire room", said Sanjana making fun of her best friend knowing her too well.

"Sanjana come on yaar, don't make fun of me. I have just packed 5 bags and 2 college bags that's it", said Piggy gesturing towards the XXL-size bags beside her.

"Okay girls, let's go to my room and hang out there", called Sanjana ushering her friends inside her room.
