30 - Re-Opening

A few weeks later the store was done, and I was standing inside waiting to open the door to let the line of people in.

Shawn had been doing so much social media coverage and then I was getting local news coverage as well that this place was going to be so busy and packed, I wasn't going to know what to do.

"How do you feel Bex?" Shawn asked coming up to me with the phone and I knew he was livestreaming.

"I'm so nervous..." I said with a smile looking at the camera and he smiled behind it.

"They are all here for you. They are all here for the store. I also got word that the first person in line is BookCaptain101, she fulfilled her promise." Shawn said and I sighed. Mandy then walked over to me and I smiled as did she.

"It's time." Mandy said and I nodded as we walked to the door and opened them. Everyone clapped seeing me.

"I want to thank you all for coming to the grand reopening of Bookworms Realm. This has been a process, and I want to thank everyone for sticking with us and showing your support along the way. I especially want to thank this girl who in the front of the line. BookCaptain101, you are amazing. I love your support. Whatever you get today, is on the house!" I said and she screamed in excitement and hugged me.

"Alright! Let's get inside!" Mandy said and I nodded as I opened the doors, and everyone came walking in. I watched everyone come flooding in and looking around at the newly remodeled store. I had already given BookCaptain101 permission to film for her vlog, so she was walking around looking at everything. As I was walking around my cellphone went off in my back pocket and I smiled seeing it was Chris.

Chris: The store looks great.

Bex: Are you watching the livestream?

Chris: Of course, I am. I had to see how it went Bex.

Bex: I love you and I'll be home later.

Chris: My home? Are you calling my home your home?

I smiled at this.

Bex: A conversation for tonight.

I put my phone away and started walking around the store checking on everyone and making sure everything was okay.

Later that night I closed down the shop, making sure the high-tech security system Chris went behind my back and put in was turned on and set. Chris was very adamant I got the best and he paid and had it installed.

I left the shop and headed straight to Chris's house putting in the gate code to get in and driving down the long drive. Once I got out of the car the front door opened and I saw Chris standing there and I smiled as I walked up the walkway and into the house.

"Hi." I smiled and he smiled as he leaned down and kissed me.

"How was work?" Chris asked.

"Amazing! I topped sales for the month already and I should be able to pay off the small loan I had to take out sooner than expected." I said and Chris groaned as we walked in the house and Dodger met me as I was taking off my shoes.

"I wish you would just let me do it for you..." Chris said, and I shook my head.

"Chris, I told you, I wanted to do it myself. I wanted this all on me. I let you help clean up and pay for the ridiculous security system. Let me have this." I said and I petted Dodger and Chris wrapped his arms around me from behind and kissed the back of my neck.

"I just want to know you are safe in money and safety."

"And we are fine." I smiled back at him.

"Good, now we can have dinner and then talk or talk and then dinner." Chris said as we walked hand in hand towards the living room and I saw the pizza on the coffee table, and I smiled.

"Eat and talk at the same time because I know you are dying to know what I meant earlier." I said and Chris nodded as we sat on the couch. As we sat down and started dishing out food Chris was watching me, and I huffed a laugh and set my plate down on the coffee table and turned on the couch to face Chris.

"Okay talking first, since you won't stop looking at me." I said and Chris chuckled and turned to face me as well. I took both of his hands in mine and sighed.

"Okay well, when I was told about the shop Scott, and I were at my house, and we were busy packing up everything I wasn't using at the moment..." I started off.

"Packing up?" Chris asked.

"Yeah boxes, bubbled wrap, the whole thing. I was packing up what I didn't need. I was getting ready to have a talk with you about where I could put all those boxes as storage since I was thinking of bringing all my main items here and moving in with you like we discussed in New York. Like you said I already have 2 drawers in some of the closet. I know I panicked in New York, but I think now with everything that happened in the store, this would be a smart move." I explained and Chris smiled.

"I think so too." Chris said quickly and I smiled.

"So, we are doing this?" I asked and Chris nodded.

"We are, your spare boxes can go in the garage and you can put some things around the house. We can compromise on a lot of things especially everything we will have two of. I just want you here with me and at least being here where I know you're safe." Chris said and I smiled as he leaned in and kissed me.

"So, when do we do this?" I asked as we broke apart.

"Tomorrow." Chris said and I laughed.

"Chris be reasonable." I said.

"I am, tomorrow was my reasonable answer because I didn't think you would appreciate me saying tonight." Chris chuckled and I laughed.

"What about this weekend? We get Scott to help, and we get me moved it?" I asked and Chris sighed but nodded.

"I think I can agree to that." Chris said. I looked at Dodger who was laying in his dog bed.

"How will he be with me moving in?" I asked and Chris smiled.

"Oh, please if he has to leave you or if you leave here, he whimpers and whines for hours missing you. I think he will be just fine." Chris said and I laughed.

"Dodger..." I said and he perked up. "I'm moving in buddy!" I announced excitedly and he barked like he knew what I was saying. Chris and I laughed and then cuddled on the couch knowing this was our life now as we continued to eat dinner and just bask in the glow of this big step we were taking.
