IN THE MORNING (Chloe's POV)
———————————————————————————
The next morning, when I woke up, Red was still sound asleep. Glancing at the clock, I saw it was only 7 a.m. I was thinking why I had woken up so early and attempted to fall back to sleep but couldn't. Eventually, I silently got up, I got ready to head to the library for some new books to read while everyone else on campus was still asleep. Leaving a note on Red's nightstand, I tiptoed out. Upon arriving at the library, I spotted Uma.

"Hey, Uma," I greeted her. She turned to me and asked, "Why are you up so early, Chloe? And where's Red?"

"I couldn't sleep, and Red is still in dreamland. I didn't want to disturb her slumber," I explained.

"That makes sense. So, are you searching for books for a class or is it just for leisure reading?" Uma inquired.

"Just to read. I've read almost all the books I brought with me," I replied.

"You truly are a bookworm, as Red often mentions," Uma remarked.

"Wait, she said that?" I questioned, feeling flustered at the mention of Red. Uma chuckled and changed the subject, leaving me blushing. As she observed my reaction, she pushed it aside and asked, "What genre of book are you interested in?"

"I'm not certain. I've read so many books; it's hard to find new ones," I confessed.

"How about 'Harry Potter' or 'Percy Jackson'?" she suggested.

"I've already watched and read those series," I admitted.

"What about the 'Hunger Games' series?" Uma proposed.

"I've only read the first book," I replied.

"Well, we have the rest of the series. I'll let you look through them while I attend to some paperwork in my office," Uma said before excusing herself. I selected two books from the series and checked them out. On my way back to the dormitory, the hallways were bustling with people, causing me to rush back, not wanting to keep Red waiting. I ran into a few individuals but managed to reach our room without much delay. Upon my return, I found Red still asleep. After removing the note from her nightstand, I settled on my bed and began reading. Moments later, I heard Red moving around in her sleep. She eventually woke up, and I greeted her teasingly, "Morning, princess," causing her cheeks to flush as she hid under the covers.

"Morning," she mumbled. I chuckled, set my book aside, and joined her on her bed.

"You're blushing, Red," I teased, revealing her face. She playfully retorted, "Oh, whatever, Chloe." I laughed and laid down next to her. As she turned to face me, she inquired, "Where did you go to earlier?"

"Did you hear me leave?" I asked.

"I think I heard the door open and close," she recalled.

"I went to the library to find new books," I disclosed.

"Of course, my little bookworm," Red teased. Surprised, I exclaimed, "Is that really how you see me!?"

Red laughed, reassuring me, "I was just kidding, Chloe." I glanced back at her as I got up and walked away, she was pouting.

"Aw, someone's feeling cuddly today," I playfully remarked. She rolled her eyes, and I moved to sit beside her on the bed. Resting her head on my lap, she looked up at me.

"Are you happy now?" I inquired. She smiled and nodded, and I giggled. We spent some time chatting in that position until Red needed to use the bathroom. I remained seated on her bed, engrossed in my book as I waited for her to return.
