IN THE MORNING(Chloe's POV)
———————————————————————————
In the morning, I awoke to Red's alarm. She had turned mine off since I'd been cooped up in the dorm. I checked the time and noticed her alarm was set for 40 minutes later than mine."Oh my God! Red, wake up!" I exclaimed. She slowly opened her eyes.
"Hi. What's wrong?" she asked, her voice still heavy with sleep.
"We only have an hour to get ready!" I replied urgently. Red shot me a look before bursting into giggles at my exaggerated expression.
"Baby, it's fine. That's more than enough time. Now, why don't you go get ready?" Red suggested.
"Fine, but if we're late, it's all your fault," I retorted playfully.
"That seems fair, but I doubt we'll be late," she replied. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my clothes, heading into the bathroom. I slipped on some shorts and a hoodie, then styled my hair half up, half down. Red entered shortly after, dressed in red cargo pants and a black top.
"Who are you trying to impress?" I teased.
"Just you," she said, wrapping her arms around my waist. I smiled, feeling my cheeks flush as I playfully rolled my eyes.
"Finish getting ready; I'm basically done," I told her.
"Same here. Just let me wrap things up," she replied, planting a kiss on my lips. I kissed her back and stepped aside to let her use the bathroom. It didn't take long, and when she emerged, I was seated at the desk.
"How much time do we have left?" she asked.
"About 20 minutes," I answered.
"I told you we'd have more than enough time!" Red exclaimed, locking eyes with me. I held her gaze for a moment before looking away, and she smiled victoriously.
"Can't hold eye contact? How adorable," Red teased.
"Oh, come on! You can't do it all the time either," I shot back, resting my hand on the side of her neck. She blushed, causing me to giggle.
"Okay, fine. What do you want to do?" Red asked.
"Maybe grab a bite to eat," I suggested.
"Sounds perfect," she replied, and I couldn't help but smile. As she went to gather her things, I remembered my pill. I quickly took it before grabbing all of my belongings.
"Are you ready?" Red asked.
"Yeah, I am. Let's go," I answered. Red beamed at me, and together we made our way down to the cafeteria. Upon entering, we spotted CJ, Gael, and CJ's roommate, Freddie.
"Hey, you guys!" Red called out to them as I waved.
"Hey! Chloe, you're back!" CJ said, rushing over to hug me. I hugged her back warmly.
"Yeah, I am. Finally feeling good," I replied.
"Well, that's great to hear!" CJ exclaimed. Red and I sat down with them then she went to fetch our food.
"So, Chloe, how have you been? It's been a little while," Freddie inquired.
"I've been doing the best I can, which is better than I expected," I
"That's great to hear," she replied.
"How have you all been?" I asked.
"I've been good, just school—so boring," CJ said, and we all giggled.
"Yeah, school is really dull," Freddie chimed in.
"It's not that bad, you guys," Gael interjected.
"What's not that bad?" Red asked as she sat back down.
