Brooke's pov
It's been a few days since the "incident" between me and Asher. I don't know how to feel. I mean, we were so close to each other and I mean, if the librarian hadn't been there..would we have gone farther? would it have been something more? could it ever be more?
No! bad Brooke you're delusional. Asher's an asshole and I'm pretty sure he's incapable of feeling things other than smugness if that's even a feeling.
The door opens and Raya walks in plopping herself on My bed and with that I quickly put my diary under my pillow
"what's up?" I say to Raya as she sits up
"what's up!? you completely forgot about the barbecue didn't you?"
I shrug and give her a smile "maybe we could do something else? something fun?"
"like what huh?" Raya says, crossing her arms visibly annoyed with me
"I dunno. I heard they're doing a local capture the flag game at Calerio park"
"really? capture the flag? what are you, 5?"
"I'm serious. its got paint ball guns too" I say wiggling my eyebrows and saying the last part in a singsongy voice
Raya finally caves in and agrees "fine but Im not dressed for it and no way I'm gonna go back home and change. I'm stealing your clothes"
"at least you don't say borrowing anymore"
"well I cant lie to your face because we both know I'm not giving them back"
We both laugh and change. Raya changes into some black sweat pants and a tight black tank top and I change into some army cargo pants and a tight black tank top
We arrive at the park where we pay our tickets and get sorted into teams. me and Raya are on the same team and as I look around to see our competition my eyes stop on two people.
"well shit he's everywhere" I mutter and Raya turns back to me asking who so I gesture to Sam and Asher on Blue team taking their stance
Asher's eyes wander around as well and meet mine and then he raises his eyebrows in shock and says something to Sam making him look towards me and laugh and say something to Asher which makes him hit Sam in the head.
The whistle blows signaling the game to start and my team (red) goes on to attack yellow, and blue attacks green. My team quickly overpowers yellow and I see blue has the same with green.
Blue charges to the middle of the battle field and red follows, its a blood bath, or paint bath. whatever you call this. In the middle of the fight I lose Raya but that doesnt stop me from fighting with my all even though its just a game. as more people get out the crowd of people shrink until i notice its just me and a few others.
I crouch down and carefully step shooting down some more people. its just one person left on the battle field and its..
oh shit. Asher.
I stand my ground as Asher and I glare at eachother. We both hold up our paintball guns and shoot rapidly, at eachother. Even though we both get hit we keep shooting just for the payback.
What? dude doused me in paint what do you think Im gonna do?
Raya and Sam are standing where the rest of the losers are and are watching Brooke and Asher shoot at eachother rapidly. The shooting suddenly turns into arguing when the guns run out of ammo on who got who.
"they fight like an old married couple" Sam says to himself but Raya overhears
"Tell me about it" Raya says replying to Sam and they both turn to look at eachother
"Sam" Sam says, looking at Raya and holding out his hand
"Raya" she replies and taking his hand and shaking it.
Their conversation is inturrupted when Brooke and Asher come towards them fuming
"Raya lets go, asshole over here needs some time to cool out from his temper tantrum" Brooke says, putting down the gun where the rest of them are and whipping some of the paint off
"oh so now I'm the one throwing a tantrum? if I recall you were the one that kept shooting when you lost" Asher says also fuming and throwing his gun with the rest
"lost!? I didn't lose!!" Brooke shouts at him
"uhm yes you did!" Asher shouts and another argument starts between them
Raya and Sam laugh the two
"well ive gotta get her home before she starts throwing things"
"me too. see you later Raya" Sam says with a small smile and waving her goodbye
Brooke walks with Raya to get her stuff and complains the entire time about Asher
They walk back home as the sun is setting, arm in arm with Brooke shouting and Raya laughing.
how its supposed to be
okay this chapter was less detailed and it was a bit meh and not much of a plot but its kinda like just a fun day for them. why do you guys think of Brooke and Asher because if you wait until next few chapters for things get a bit more....interesting that's for sure. and also what do you think of Sam and Raya's newfound friendship? bye hagd love you guys <3
