Marjorie's Daughter

Chapter 8

After the false alarm, the days seemed to blur together it was now the 23th of December and was Evie's due date and Sorscha could tell her wife was uncomfortable and getting agitated so Sorscha has planned something today to do with Macey; the nursery was shut now for Christmas and everyone were helping the Doyle family knowing that things were about to be hectic in their household. Macey was excited because she knew her sibling was arriving soon and couldn't stop telling everyone who would listen; "Macey come here please" Sorscha called for the 4-year-old, Macey walked into the living room and saw her mama and mummy on the couch "yeah mummy" Sorscha heard her ask "me and you are going to go out today on a mummy/daughter date whilst mama stays here and rests" Sorscha explains to Macey.

Evie sat there smiling at her daughter when she got excited to spend the day with Sorscha, when Sorscha told Evie what she had planned she nearly burst into tears from the love that Sorcha has for their daughter; she knew that Sorscha planned this so she could relax and get last minute preparations done before the baby arrived. Sorscha got up to get Macey ready whilst secretly messaging Autumn to see if she could pop round as a surprise so Evie wasn't alone, everyone was surprised that Evie and Autumn have gotten close but Autumn has been constantly over since meeting Evie and Macey; Macey started to call her Auntie Autie and Autumn didn't mind and would bring gifts for her and baby Doyle. Sorscha relaxed when she saw the Autumn has agreed to come round, and carried on with getting Macey ready to leave.

Evie got up off the couch with a struggle and walked over to where her wife and child stood ready to leave for a few hours "I've got my phone on me and it's on loud so if you need me call me okay" Sorscha says to Evie "babe I'm going to pack the last few things in our hospital bags, pack Macey's bag so she's ready to go to her Aunt Mimi's and Lotties and then just relax until you both get home" Evie says to Sorscha and saw she relaxed at her words "okay just keep me updated" Sorscha says "bye Macey-lacey have a good day with mummy" Evie says to Macey "I will mama love you" Macey replies "love you too" Evie says and gives her a kiss on the cheek "love you to babe" she says to Sorscha and gives her a kiss on the lips and watches them leave.

"Right little one lets go and pack your big sisters bag" Evie says to her stomach and walking up the stairs slowly to Macey's room, she walked in and started to tidy it when she sees toys on the floor before packing a bag for when Macey goes to Mia's and Charlotte for the night when she goes into labour; Evie had just finished packing the bag when she heard the doorbell go, she walks down the stairs to open the door to find Autumn stood there with groceries in her hands "Morning Autumn what can I do for you" Evie asks Autumn letting her in the house, "I thought I would come and drop of some groceries for you so you have stuff in the house when little Doyle makes their appearance" Autumn says to Evie whilst walking into the kitchen and placing the groceries on the side.

Evie was about to reply when her phone rang and she pulled it out her pocket and saw it was her mama "Hi mama" she says down the phone to her mum "hi my love, I was wondering if you was in" Marjorie says to her daughter when she answered the phone "yeah I'm in; Sorscha has took Macey out for the day so I can get the last thing packed and relax" Evie says to her before continuing "you are more than welcome to come round, Autumn has just arrived with groceries" Marjorie hears her explain "okay my love, I'll be around in 20 minutes" Marjorie says before hanging up the phone. Evie turns to Autumn who has just finished putting the groceries away "that's mama she is coming round in 20 minutes" she says to her "okay, I heard you was packing, do you need a hand" Autumn says to Evie " sure, I just need to pack my hospital bag and the baby bag, then everything is done car seat is installed, Sorscha and Macey's bags are packed" Evie explains whilst moving to the stairs Autumn followed behind her, they both entered the master bedroom and Autumn saw a suitcase on the bed and a smaller one next to it "the smaller one is for the little one and baby products and the larger one is for myself and my essentials" Evie explains to Autumn "okay then you sit there on the bed and I will get everything and pass it to you to pack" Autumn says and gently sits Evie down on the bed.

Autumn watches Evie shuffle back into the pillows and makes sure her back is supported "how you feeling Eve and what clothes do you want for your bag" Autumn asks "can you grab my pjs from the second draw down and I'm just tired and want this little nugget out" Evie tells her whilst watching Autumn get clothes she asked for "he or she will be here soon" Autumn says whilst passing over the clothes to Evie, they carry this on until they heard the doorbell go and then a voice "Evie darling its mum" they hear Marjorie shout "we are in the bedroom mama" Evie calls back, they heard Marjorie walking up the stairs and they see her enter the room "what is going on here" Marjorie asks when she sees Evie sat on the bed and folding clothes and placing them in the suitcase "we are just packing the last little bits I need in the suitcase and then doing the babies stuff" Evie explains to her mum "how about I do the baby stuff and you can check it as I go" her mama asks her trying to be helpful for her daughter "sure mama" Evie says feeling tired even though she hasn't done much.

Autumn noticed that Evie was getting tired "Eve why don't you have a nap, we will wake you up when we are done" she suggests and watched as Evie didn't respond but just lay down and fell asleep quickly "is that normal Marjorie" Autumn asks her friend "in pregnancy yes, Evie was like this when she was pregnant with Macey, she nested and slept and the next day she went into labour" Marjorie explains to Autumn whilst walking over and covering Evie with a blanket and kisses her forehead. Autumn and Marjorie work quietly so they didn't disturb the pregnant woman who was fast asleep, they finished packing and leave the room when they hear the front door being opened and hear voices; they walk down the stairs and see Sorscha and Macey walking into the hallway "hey did you have a good day" Marjorie asks them "hi nana, auntie Autie, me and mummy had so much fun we did so many different things and I saw Santa" Macey explains to her nana when she see her "that sounds like so much fun sweetie" Marjorie says to her granddaughter "Evie is asleep she fell asleep about an hour ago, the bags are packed and already to go" Autumn explains to Sorscha whilst giving her niece a hug "okay she hasn't been sleeping well so the sleep will do her good and thank you for being with her" Sorscha says to Autumn and Marjorie "its okay my love we are both going to go, if you need anyone just give us a ring" Marjorie says whilst getting her things and leaving with Autumn following behind.

Sorscha got Macey settled in her room to play with her toys and quickly walked into her bedroom to see her wife fast asleep and sees the suitcases all ready at the door, she carries them down the stairs and puts them in her car; she walks back into the house and up to where her wife was when she walked back in she saw Evie slowly waking up "hiya babe, we are home Macey is in her room" she whispers to Evie and climbs up next to her wife "you had a good day and what time is it" Evie whispers when she feels her wife next to her "it's nearly 7pm" Sorscha says Evie doesn't say anything a part from nod her head, Evie felt off but didn't say anything thinking it might not be anything.

"Do you need anything or want anything babe" Sorscha asks Evie "no I'm really tired so I just want to stay here" Evie says to her wife "okay I'm going to give Macey a bath early and we can have a movie night in bed with her" Sorscha says whilst getting up and leaving the room, she looked at Evie and saw she was fast asleep. She walked towards the bathroom and started to fill it up before leaving to grab Macey, when the bath was filled and at a good temperature that was safe for Macey she placed her in the bath "we are going to have a movie night in mama and mummy's bed" she tells her daughter whilst bathing her "really mummy" Macey asks "yeah we can cuddle up in bed and watch a movie, but mama might be asleep because she's really tired" Sorscha says whilst getting her out the bath once she was clean and quickly drying her and dressing her, she carries Macey to where Evie is still asleep and places Macey on the bed and runs back to the bathroom to quickly tidy it before walking back into the bedroom, she walks into her closet telling Macey she is getting changed and won't be a minute. Sorscha walked back into the room and turned the tv on and climbed on her bed placed the quilt over her and Macey and started the movie for her and Macey to watch, she looked at Evie and she was still passed out on her side away from them both Sorscha turned back the movie and settled down with her family.
