Chapter 23

Over the next couple of days Evie was getting ready back to go to work, Aubrey and Autumn will be going to the creche that she built in the nursery eventually but for now she had set up a corner for them in her office, the twins were turning three months old and would be going to creche once they are 1 year old, after dealing with Eric and getting him to read the letters to everyone mainly Carly since he had physically hurt Carly, Evie and Agatha had seen a change in him but could tell it will take a while for him to fully understand on what he had done. Evie was walking down the stairs and was half way down when she felt herself slip on the stairs and she went down with a loud bang and crash, after giving herself a minute to calm down she tried to stand up but all she felt pain in her hip and leg. Evie tried standing up again but had to bite her lip to stop screaming in pain she was home alone with the twins who were fast asleep in the living room, letting out a breath she reached for her phone that she had dropped when she fell and rang her mums number since she knew Sorscha would be in the room and wouldn't have her phone "hello sweetie" she heard her mums voice down the phone and she didn't know if it was from the pain or hearing her mums voice she felt tears start to develop "mama" Evie whimpered down the phone "Evie you okay" she heard her mum ask down the phone "I was walking down the stairs when I slipped, I can't move it hurts" she got out whilst trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill "okay sweetie, I'm going to grab Sorscha and we will come get you, where are Aubrey and Autumn" her mum told her and she could tell her mum was trying to get her to calm down "they are asleep in the living room" Evie explained and bit her lip to stop screaming when she shifted slightly "okay, we won't be long, ring Mia sweetie okay" her mum told her and Evie could hear her mum rushing around down the phone "okay mama, please be quick" she gets out before hanging up the phone and quickly rang her sister "hey Evey" she heard her sister say cheerfully down the phone "Mimi, I need help I fell down the stairs and can't move" Evie doesn't even greet her sister she just gets to the point and she heard "I'M ON THE WAY" being screamed by her sister and then her sister hung the phone up and Evie just sat there waiting for someone to turn up to help her.

Evie was still sat where she fell when she heard "babe where are you" being shouted by Sorscha, in the time it took for everyone to get here, Evie let the tears fall and she could also hear her babies crying but she felt awful because she couldn't get to them so they had been crying for 10 minutes "stairs, can someone grab Autumn and Aubrey please" she shouts hoping someone would calm her babies, she was getting more stressed because she could hear them crying and she looked up when she saw Sorscha and her mum walk towards her "Mia is with the babies, let's get you checked out" Sorscha says to her and Evie feels herself being lifted under her arms by her mum on one side and Sorscha on the other side, but by being lifted she screamed in pain "stop" she says and feels her mum and wife stop moving and she watched as Sorscha just picked her up "I'll get her in the car, can you sort the twins out please" Sorscha asked her mum and Evie felt Sorscha walk to the car and slowly got her in the car, Evie turned to Sorscha when she jumped in the driver's seat "your mum and sister are going to stay here and collect Macey from nursery" Sorscha says to her and sets of driving towards the hospital.

Sorscha drove to the hospital as quick as possible she looked over to see Evie gripping the seat in pain and Sorscha knew her wife must be agony and felt bad for Evie, she quickly pulled into the hospital and parked the car before rushing into the hospital and grabbed a wheelchair not realising that Vivian was on shift and had followed her outside until she heard "what's happened" come from behind her and she turned to see Vivian stood there "Evie slipped down the stairs and cant more her leg and hip" Sorscha told Vivian and opened the door and slowly with Vivians help they got Evie into the wheelchair both of them wincing when Evie screamed from being moved, Sorscha let Vivian push Evie into the hospital and into a room and helped her get Evie on to the bed in the room which made Evie scream out again "something is definitely wrong" Sorscha heard Vivian say and nodded her head in agreement with the woman.
