Chapter 22

The next Monday saw Evie getting her and the twins ready to leave to go and pick up Sorscha from work before collecting Macey from nursery, she was also going to be speaking to Eric before her and Sorscha leave so she was going a bit earlier so that she can make sure Aubrey and Autumn were settled with her mum and Autumn before she talked to Eric, she got each twin into their car seats in her car and quickly jumped in the front before driving off, she turned on the radio and turned down the music so it was more background noise, it didn't take long for her to arrive at the nursery and she got out and instead of grabbing the double pram out the back of her car she just unclipped the car seats and carried the twins to the gate and as she walking towards the gate she saw it open and smiled when she saw Autumn opening the gate "hey Aut" she greeted Autumn "hi Evie, we saw you pull in to the car park" Autumn says to her and Evie lets her grab one of the car seats and chuckled when she saw she had grabbed Ottie's car seat "what has you chuckling" Autumn asked her whilst leading her into the building "you always gravitate to Ottie, and you didn't even know which car seat had who inside" she explains to Autumn and watched as Autumn looked in the car seat and laughed as well entering the office and Evie watched as Autumn placed the car seat on her desk and Evie looked at her mum's desk seeing it empty "where is my mama at" Evie asked Autumn and before she got a reply she saw her mum walk in to the office and laughed when her mum squealed and rushed past her and headed for the car seat that Evie had placed on the empty desk.

Evie shook her head at her mum "hi mama, nice to see you too" Evie says sarcastically and rolled her eyes when her mum turns to her "hi my love, how are you doing" Evie hears her mum say to her but turns back to the car seat that holds her grandson, Evie went to reply but her attention was quickly grabbed by seeing Eric outside and she walked to the window and saw Eric talking to Carly and she could tell Carly was uncomfortable "I'll be back in 5 minutes, if you take Aubrey and Ottie out their car seats make sure you sanitise your hands and don't kiss or touch their faces" she says before quickly leaving the office, Evie headed towards where she knew Carly and Eric was talking outside and she walked around the corner but stopped and listened to what was being said "Eric I said no, so please stop asking me" she heard Carly say and could hear how uncomfortable Carly was but soon she heard Eric reply "please Carly" she heard Eric say but she didn't let Carly reply she walked over to where they were both stood and shouted "ERIC, GET YOUR BUTT HERE NOW" and she saw Eric turn to her and go pale when he saw her storming towards him "Evie I wasn't-" Eric started to say but she cut him of very quickly "don't even start with the excuses" Evie tells him before grabbing the back of his shirt when he went to try and leave "Carly head back in, I'll speak to you in a minute" Evie says to Carly "okay mama Evie" she heard Carly say to her and watched as the teenager left her and Eric alone in the garden.

Evie turned back to the teenager in front of her and bent down to his height "march your butt to that office young man" she says to Eric and saw him go more pale when he heard her tone and she could tell he realise that she wasn't messing around, when Eric moved she noticed he was going in the wrong direction and she quickly intercepted him and just grabbed him by his collar again and marched him into the office "let go Evie" she heard Eric say to her and she noticed he was trying to reach her hands to remove them from his collar "if I let go, you better march walk to the office, do not try to run little boy" she says to him and watched as he nodded his head and Evie let go of his shirt and walked behind him as he walked towards to the office, she opened the door and gently pushed him through it "walk now" she barked at him when he stopped "I didn't even do anything" she heard Eric whine and she just spun him around and glared at him "watch the tone little boy, I was going to do this in the office, but if you want to be difficult we can have a little chat here" she says and stops in the middle of the hallway "no its okay, the office is good" Eric says to her but she shook her head "no, you chose to be difficult Eric" she says and narrows her eyes at him when he goes to speak. Evie doesn't say anything for a few minutes and noticed that Eric was starting to fidget where he was stood "I'm going to ask you one question little boy" she says and she saw Eric gulp at being called 'little boy' and she could tell he had come to conclusion that he had messed up "do you understand that no means no" she asks him and saw Eric nod his head "use your words" she tells him when he doesn't actually answers the question "yes I do" Eric says to her and she just shakes her head "so why is that when people say no or tells you to stop, you are not respecting the answer you are being given" she asks him this time and she knew that Eric wasn't stupid and was doing this because he thought he could "I don't know what you mean Evie" Eric tells her and she just glared at him and watched as he stepped away from her "you listen to me, I have had your mother ringing me and I have heard of what you have been doing, you have not been respecting people who work here, you keep pushing yourself on people even after they say no to you and yet you don't use that brain of yours to listen to them, you better be glad that we are in the nursery" she says to him trying to keep her anger at bay with how stupid Eric is being and watched has he looked at the floor before hearing "not all of them said no" come from Eric and she grabbed him by his shirt and dragged him outside to where they both was stood outside and let him go when they were outside "right listen here, if anyone says to you no, go away or even move along or any other form of the word no, you better listen because they all mean the same thing, am I clear Eric" she says getting louder after each word but not loud to where she is shouting at him "but-" she heard come from Eric but she quickly cut him off "LISTEN TO ME" she shouted and saw Eric flinch at her tone of voice "no means no, if anyone ask you to leave them alone or says no, you better walk away am I clear Eric" she says and glares at him "did you even notice that Carly was uncomfortable when you was asking her and ignored her when she said no" Evie tells him and just watched him for a few minutes.
