Chapter 20

Once everyone had arrived back at the Doyle residents, Evie told everyone to settle in the living room whilst she went to her office and grabbed her copy of the renting contract and walked back into the living and saw her mum, sister, Autumn, Reece, Siobhan and Maddison all chatting quietly to not disturb Aubrey and Autumn who were asleep in the bassinette; Evie walked over and handed over the contract to Autumn "what's this" Evie heard Autumn ask her "that is my copy of the renting contract" Evie said to the woman whilst sitting in the rocker next to her sleeping babies "it has everything in it that told you about in the office" Evie carries on saying and watched as Autumn read over the contract and heard Autumn gasp "you are a freaking genius" Evie heard Autumn say "why do you say that sis" Evie heard Reece ask Autumn and turned to see Reece grab the contract to read it for himself "she is a freaking genius because father signed this knowing the clause but still did everything he did" Autumn started to explain to her brother "but that doesn't explain why she is a genius" Reece says looking at the contract before he also gasped and looked up at Evie in shock "you didn't" Reece asked Evie who looked at him confused before remembering the other little piece of information in the contract "ahh that" Evie says before looking at everyone to see they are looking at her and the siblings confused "she added another clause stating if the renter did anything to hurt the heirs or try anything to cause trouble they will be arrested for breaching the agreement" Autumn explained and everyone turned to look at Evie "why did you add that in" Siobhan asked not knowing her boss had something like this planned "I added it because once your father knows he lost the nurseries, do you really think he wouldn't try anything to hurt one of you two" Evie explains and lent back in her chair knowing that this conversation is going to wipe her out completely.

Autumn was touched that Evie did something like this without even knowing if Roger had children or anything, she stood up and walked over to Evie and pulled her in for a hug and Evie just returned the hug and rubbed her back "thank you" Autumn whispered to Evie who pulled back "you don't have to thank me, I put the clause in as a failsafe I didn't know who was renting or anything about them, my lawyer dealt with it and just made sure I had the contract" Evie explained to her and she just nodded her head "my papa always told me to protect the young ones in a family, he told me this because he felt like he couldn't protect Mimi from her mum" Evie says to Autumn and Autumn watched as Evie glanced at Mia when she said the last part.

Evie watched as Autumn sat down and heard her phone ringing next to her, she picked up the phone and saw it was unknown number she answered the phone "hello Mrs Roberts Doyle speaking" she said and is met with heavy breathing before hearing "you are going to regret messing with me" a mans voice said and she knew who it was immediately "ahh Mr Knight" she said and heard quiet gasps she raised her finger to her lips and made everyone be quiet "what do you mean" she said down the phone again "I mean you stole my companies your lawyer had just turned up and informed me I don't own my company anymore" she heard Roger growl out "Mr Knight I'm sorry to inform you but I don't own your companies either, my lawyer was only their to inform you that you had violated the renting agreement you signed 9 years ago" Evie says and gets a smirk on her face when she heard "what do you mean the renting agreement and who owns my companies then" Evie had to hold back her laughter and carried on speaking "maybe look at who owns the land and buildings that the nurseries are on and well your children now own them Mr Knight like it says in the contract" she says and she heard ruffling of papers before a scream was heard down the phone "you little bitch, you stolen everything from me" she heard Roger say to her "No Mr Knight, you messed with the wrong person and got burnt, I know everything from the bugs in the offices and staffroom to the monitoring of the phones but also Mr Knight you messed with a Robert, I know what really happened that day of the car crash, I knew you had someone cause it and I know you and my father was friends once but fell out because you thought he had ran of with your wife, but sorry to tell you Mr Knight but he didn't he fell in love with my mum, who you also know as Marjorie who is the manager of the nursery" Evie stated in a deadly voice "Mr Knight I would get used to a cell if I was you" she said when she heard 2 officers speak reading Roger his rights before hanging up the phone and turned her attention to everyone in the room and she turned pale when she saw the murderous glare of her mum and quickly turned when she heard multiple gasps and saw her wife and everyone else stood there looking at her.
