The day of the Provisional Hero License Exam had finally arrived. Takoba National Stadium buzzed with anticipation as Class 1-A walked in, the weight of their previous experiences sitting heavily on their shoulders. Y/N, usually sharp-tongued and quick-witted, was feeling a bit lighter than usual, though their exhaustion was still present. The stadium was massive, filled with students from various schools, each eager to prove themselves.

As Class 1-A huddled together, a loud and overenthusiastic voice interrupted their circle. Inasa Yoarashi from Shiketsu High School energetically introduced himself, practically shoving his way into the group's space. Y/N watched him with a raised eyebrow, bemused at the sheer vigor of the guy who promptly smashed his forehead into the ground in a bow, drawing blood.

"Who does that? Seriously, who slams their head into the ground as a way of saying 'hello'?" Y/N muttered under their breath, trying to stifle a snicker. They leaned closer to Todoroki, "Hey, you think I should start headbutting people as a way to break the ice? Or is that just a weird Shiketsu thing?"

Todoroki blinked at them, unsure if Y/N was joking or actually considering it. Before he could respond, Ms. Joke, the overzealous teacher from Ketsubutsu Academy, sauntered over to Aizawa, starting her usual banter. Her laugh echoed around the stadium, and Y/N couldn't help but roll their eyes.

"Wow, I get that she's the 'Smile Hero,' but do you think she has an off switch? Asking for a friend," Y/N whispered to Kaminari, who was trying not to laugh out loud.

The introductions continued, with Ms. Joke's students mingling with Class 1-A. One of them, Yo Shindo, approached the group with a wide, overly friendly grin plastered on his face. He tried to shake everyone's hand, his politeness dripping with a sense of insincerity that made Y/N's skin crawl.

"Oh, great. Captain Fake-Nice is here," Y/N thought as they plastered on a big, fake smile. When Shindo extended his hand to them, Y/N took it with an exaggerated shake. "Wow, what a firm handshake! You must really mean it when you say 'good luck,' huh? I'm sure you're not secretly hoping we all fail miserably."

Shindo's smile twitched ever so slightly, but he kept his composure. "Of course not! We're all here to do our best."

Y/N leaned in closer, still smiling, "Sure, sure. And I'm sure you're not thinking about how many of us you can take out the moment this exam starts. But hey, don't worry. I'm only thinking about how to make sure you're not one of the lucky ones."

Shindo chuckled awkwardly, clearly uncomfortable, before quickly moving on to greet someone else. Y/N watched him go, feeling oddly satisfied with themselves.

The students were given their targets and balls, the exam rules laid out before them. Y/N took a deep breath, rolling their shoulders to shake off any lingering fatigue.
