[time skip to joint training arc!!]
Y/N trudged toward the training grounds, muttering under their breath, "Late again, because of course I am." Their eyes glanced down at the heavy winter hero costume they'd hastily thrown on, wincing at how cumbersome it felt. The weight of the thick material made every step feel like trudging through sand, and sweat was already beginning to build under their mask.
"Seriously, where the heck did my normal suit go?" they grumbled, pulling at the stiff collar of the winter outfit. "I bet Wolverine messed with it. That hairy jerk probably thinks it's 'character building' or some crap."
When Y/N finally arrived at the training grounds, the exercise had already started, and Class 1-A was well into the joint training with Class 1-B. Aizawa didn't look pleased when Y/N tried to slide in unnoticed. His eyes narrowed as he approached.
"You're late," Aizawa said flatly, as if Y/N didn't already know that.
"Yeah, yeah," Y/N muttered. "But I'm *fashionably* late. Look at this winter monstrosity! I can barely move, let alone fight! I'd be more of a liability than a hero right now."
Aizawa's stare didn't waver. "Sit out for this one. You can observe."
Y/N couldn't argue with that, although sitting on the sidelines in this heat felt like a punishment all its own. The heavy costume seemed to absorb and trap every ounce of sunlight, and they could practically feel themselves melting inside it.
So there Y/N sat, watching the students of Class 1-A and 1-B go head-to-head in various rounds. It was impressive, sure, but their rising discomfort made it hard to care. They shifted uncomfortably, tugging at their costume again, glaring at the heat waves shimmering off the ground. "Why didn't I put on something cooler... like, a tank top or nothing at all?"
